With winter approaching, I'm working on "winterizing" my skin care regimen and wondered - what does everyone else do to get ready for the cold's impact on their skin? Interested in skin care products, make up color changes, etc.

I find myself grabbing warmer shades and going a bit heavier on my eyeliner! I do switch up my moisturizers.. I reach for my .. Heavier isn't the right word but it will do.. Heavier moisturizers as well. Something to add and lock in moisture so I don't go all flakey. I'll also lotion up day and night.

I switch from a clay mask to a moisturizing mask.  I don't really change makeup tho.

I do the same thing along with using the lighter shade foundation.

I've switched over to my Winter serum, cleansing oil, and PM cleanser. - Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee 1st Wrinkle Serum. My skin isn't breaking out much, so I've been rotating with the Juice Beauty Blemish one I was using in Summer & Fall every night, but I'll probably be back to using the Caudalie by early-mid November. - Lancome Cleansing Oil. Just finished my last bottle of Nip + Fab Clean Fix, so I figured it was a good idea just to go back to the Lancome, which feels more nurturing. - I have about a third of a bottle left of my Avene Gel cleanser, but I have a bottle of my Caudalie Gentle Cleanser in my back-up drawer for when I finish the Avene. Depending how my skin is doing this Winter, I might switch to Cetaphil cream instead of the lotion for nighttime. As for makeup, I've been breaking out NARS Dolce Vita out quite a bit, and some of my berrier lipsticks.

I opt for neutral colors such as light browns, grays, and purples. Also i use lip gloss throughout the day during winters!

I lube up day and night too and switch to a heavier moisturizer.

Sharonwills- do you mind me asking what glosses you use? I sometimes find that too much gloss in the winter dries out my lips.

I let my products do the work while I'm sleeping. I don't change my day routine too much--unless I see my skin is starting to flake. But at night I do add a layer every night of grapeseed oil. It "deep conditions" my skin while I sleep with great anti-oxidants and anti-aging properties to fight off dry skin.... which is essentially what gives it an older appearance and fine lines/wrinkles.

If I notice some daytime flaking, I will put on a layer of coconut oil before I wash my face in the morning. When it washes off, it leaves my skin soft. (My new cleanser, however, already has coconut oil in it so we'll see how that works during the cold months)

I usually nearly double the quantity of face moisturizer I use, and it seems to work! Hope it's helpful!
