Why is my skin doing this?

I have sensitive, combination skin, slightly oily tzone, normal to dry cheeks. In Autumn/winter my cheeks tend to get dry, especially with the central heat. So I bought a heavier face moisturizer. I also exfoliate once or twice a week with a gentle exfoliator. Well I bought Marcelle Day Cream and applied it. A few mintues later I touched my face , rubbed my skin gently and the product started to peel off in little pieces, all over, unless it was my skin coming off. I returned it and bought Vichy and it does the same thing. Not sure if due to the weather change from summer to autumn, changes in temps is causing this or because my tan is fading? Any ideas or suggestions?

Man, sounds freaky. I've never heard of that either. It sounds like the moisturizer is exfoliating, but why would it do that? Maybe you should see a dermatologist and he/she can recommend the right moisturizer for you. If you have sensitive skin they might recommend a special brand or something.

I think may be Vichy moisturizer is still not hydrated enough for your thirsty skin. Try Biotherm as they have great moisturizer specially for drier skin in fall and winter.

Thanks I will return the Vichy and try Biotherm. I think they have a line for sensitive skin.

id go to the derm that doesnt sound normal! my skin sounds exactly like yours only acne prone also and dove beauty bar regular or sensitive is the most amazing thing out there. its worth a shot

Biotherm's sensitive skin cream for dry skin is very moisturizing. I love it!

Did you maybe put on too much moisturizer? I know that sometimes when I put on too much moisturizer, it balls up and "peels" off when I rub my face.

I would go to a dermatologist. I have the same kind of skin and this has never happend to me.

I think I may have overdone it with the moisturizer, maybe that is what happened, balls up, peels off. Later today I will put on less and see what happens. Thanks! If it doens't work I will try the Biotherm for sensitive skin .

Do you put a product on your face before the moisturizer?! Like maybe toner or an astringent of some kind? It could be having a reaction to that which makes it dry up and rub off. It's like when you put on deoderant and then you put on body lotion. When the two mix it makes the lotion ball up and flake off. That's my two sense...
