My brother buys sunscreen that doesn’t work. He always comes from where he goes all burned. I’m going to a car race with him, and I don’t want to look like a tomato. I need advice. Which sunscreen works?

It may not be the actual sunscreen itself. Maybe he needs a higher spf..if he's using 15 spf, it's not going to protect a lot. He needs to wear at least 45 spf, more if he's a bad burner. (pale skin). Also, is he applying it to all areas evenly and liberally? You have to use sunscreen generously. Another thing, if he sweats or gets wet, he'll need waterproof. Banana Boat, L'Oreal, Lancome are good brands!

For best protection sunscreen needs to be re-applied every 2 hours if you are exposed to the sun for a long period of time.

thank you so mouch everyone.

There are 2 type of UV Lights, UVA & UVB. UVA is stronger and can penetrate through the epidermis layer, resulting in aging. UVB can is less strong, but it can burn your outer skin and result in redness.

When buying sunscreen, look at the ingredients, Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide are good because they reflect the UV light to prevent sun burn. They are more gentle also.

Also, look for a high SPF number, at least SPF25.

Apply 30 minutes before exposure to sun for better protection.

Hope it helps.

I like Alba Organic sunscreen. It doesn't burn my sensitive skin, it's a natural bug repellant, and it's waterproof. Plus, it's organic!!!

Shiseido has a good one. I think it's

Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 PA+++

For Face/Body, Very Water-Resistant

100ml/ 3.3 fl.oz. $ 37.00

*The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends all Shiseido Suncare products with SPF 15 or higher as effective UV sunscreens.

Eucerin Extra Protective SPF 30.

And I agree, either your brother is using an SPF too low (anything below 15 is pretty much useless), isn't reapplying as often as you should, or isn't using enough! Sunscreen isn't "a dab will do ya" thing, you really need to apply liberally to get full protection. And sunscreen expires, so check expiration dates before you buy.
