I need a step by step guide or something! I dont have acne, but Ive abused my skin with laziness by sleeping in makeup, etc. My skin is pretty clear but it used to be very nice. Its not very even (and I have dark circles that never seem to go away), And I can tell my pores are clogged/enlarged. I know this is TMI but sometimes I stand in the mirror for an hour examining my pores and trying to find whiteheads/blackheads to squeeze....lol. whats a girl to do? where do I begin?

I dont really have a set routine.....I use oil of olay daily facials at night and wash my face in the shower in the morning...lol(well actually its backwards now since I work nights) throw on a dab of moisturizer, my makeup, and go.

can someone offer advice pretty please? I know the skin Im capable of having and I want it back. I want to have the kind of skin again where if I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror without makeup, I dont scare myself....:icon_lol:

Hmm..The normal routine is to Cleanse,Tone & Moisturize.

I use ice water to wash my face to further assist in closing my pores after washing.

And I don't really have a perfect complexion i have like 3 blemishes that i'm waiting to clear. Haha...

That's what i do.

Besides that you need to have a proper diet like more fruits and more water instead of eating oily food. Like instead of eating breaded fish, you can eat grilled fish instead. It's lesser in oil i guess. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Welcome to MUT! My name is Marisol and I look forward to getting to know you.

First thing that I would suggest is always take off your make up at night. I know that there are times when you feel lazy (we all do) so get some wipes and put them next to your bed. Your skin will thank you for it. Also, how much water are you drinking? Water will definitely help in improving the condition of your skin.

How would you describe your skin... dry, normal, oily? I think you need to find what products will help with your skin. I have dry skin and I adore MD Formulations. Its not drugstore skincare but its worth the price. Also, what MU are you using? It could be that your skin doesn't work well with whatever it is that you are using.

My last tip would be to browse the forum. There is TONS of information here.

thanks for trying to help :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I have combination skin...usually gets a little oily on my nose and cheeks from time to time, but in some places I have dry spots. Good idea about keeping wipes by the bed. Ill do that! See I work nights 12 hr shifts so often when I get home the thing I want to see most is my bed, especially after about the 4th 12 in a row!

Ill definitely be reading up on the forums...just have to decide which one I want to hit up first!

:icon_smil I never thought of using cold water... I should try it next time.

Erm, i'm the same-ish.

I could really do with some advice on getting good skin again as well, so thanks for all the advice so far!

I have combination skin too..

I do like biotherm's moisturize.......

I think removing your make-up every nite b4 u sleep is a very very important step...

My skin is a combination skin. Forehead, nose and chin areas are really oily wherelse very dry on cheeks area.

Anything besides tea tree to control the oil? Beside, will using blotting paper too much cause ur face to produce more oil?

I had that "gotta sort my skin out" moment a few years ago and honestly, honestly the most significant improvement to my skin happened when I found a good exfoliation routine. If I don't exfoliate properly my top layer of skin just won't budge by itself and I'm left with clogged pores and no fresh new skin showing through. Glycolic acid is good (like Naturally suggested) although I haven't had the chance to try it yet. What works for me is the aspirin mask (search the forums for more info) and using a soft facial brush 1-2 times a week. Just remember not to overdo it - be gentle all the way! Another thing which will greatly improve the feeling of your skin is lots and lots of water! (for drinking of course :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> )
