I am trying to get rid of some old acne marks. I have heard so much about glycolic acid peels...and would like to try that. Where can I get it? Can you suggest some stores/brands/websites?

Thanks!

I just started using L'Oreal's ReNoviste kit. It's a 10% facial. I have sensitive skin and it didn't sting at all. You can get it at pharmacy stores and it would probably be a safe bet to try the low dose first and see how you can tolerate it. Then maybe step up to 30% where you can find at makeupartistschoice.com or at a spa. Dermatologists can go up to 70%.

Does the L'Oreal's ReNoviste really work on sensitive skin? I have sensitive skin and I don't want this to break me out! Some of the Loreal skin care products that I have tried in the past didn't do me any good. Let me know about your experience!

i would try harmons, cvs, wallgreens, riteaide, walmart, and maybe drugfair

i was going to buy the L'Oreal's ReNoviste kit, but the reviews were so bad, i backed out. Avon 2-step peel is realli popular on this board. Andi and many other here on Mut have used and love it... click. It's onli 10 % and if your skin is okie w/that then get the 30% @ makeupartistchoice

I've tried both Avon's and L'oreal's 2-step peels, and I have to say I prefer Avon. I felt and noticed it working after just a couple of uses, whereas with L'oreal I don't really see any difference. Though, with your sensitive skin I'd test on a small area first, to make sure nothing happens.

As for glycolic peels in higher concentrations for someone with ethnic skin, I'd be wary. I'd go with lactic or mandelic acid instead. Lactic is less irritating than glycolic, better for sensitive skin, and I read somewhere on this board that it's more effective than GA at getting rid of discoloration.

Of course, there are tons of products with low concentrations of GA that you can still try out, just check on dermstore.com or skincarerx.com. Don't get washes/cleansers - waste of money in my opinion since they don't stay on your skin long enough to do anything. Toners and treatments/lotions/serums are your best bet.

Personally, I want to try MaMa Lotion. It contains mandelic and malic acid, and I've read that it works really well for darker skin tones.

Good luck!

I didn't feel a sting....well not until step three which is their moisturizer. I go back to my Estee lauder for that step. But regardless of what brand you get, you should dab some on your cheek and see how you tolerate it.
You probably will break out a bit after continuous use. It's purging. I haven't used it long enough to notice any purging yet. Then again, I went through that already with the retin a

hi lavender...i'm selling on of my GA kit if you want check the Items for sale forum....

i'd say makeupartistschoice is your best bet. i agree with the others about starting out with a low % at first. (the lowest they sell is 30%). the avon peels are good..that would be a good starter..and if you have sensitive skin, start with lactic peels, then try glycolic..

Thanks everyone for the replies! I just ordered the AVON 2 step peel from ebay. After all your advices, I thought it's better to go with a lower concentration, and see how my skin reacts to it.

Just a sample at least. Although, I might get the lactic one instead, since it's better for pigments.
