I bought an American Beauty Glowing Radiance self tanner for face and body. I just intend to use it on my face and neck to even out since i'm tan everywhere else. I hope it doesn't break me out, stink, or look ugly.

I'm not sure when to apply it. Should I cleanse, tone, moisturize, and then apply it?

I was going to do that but then thought that it might not adhere well and become uneven so I thought it might be better to apply it under my moisturizer. Then again, the moisturizer might still interfere with it somehow.

I'm thinking it might be best to apply after the moisturizer has been on awhile and absorbed well.

Am I overanalyzing this?

I think so because I bought this freakin' self tanner yesterday and haven't even tried it yet. I didn't sleep well last night because I was pondering when to apply it all night. I'm also considering just taking it back. I need therapy.

So when do you apply yours or when do you think it's best to?

...please!

are u asking how to apply self tanner for the face ? I would like to know too. I exfoliate 5 days b4 applying it. And I apply moisterizer to cleansed face and wait for moisterizer to dry .. .but for some reason .... even though the tanner (I use a different one than the one u bought) works for my body (w/realli fast results) I don't see a hint of color on my face

Yes, i'd like to know at which point to apply it. I wonder why yours doesn't show up on your face?

Which one do you use?

I just cleanse my face (sometimes use a facial scrub before too, but not always) and then apply. I think if you apply moisturizer before, the self tanner might be somewhat "diluted", if you apply moisturizer after the tanner might streak.

don´t think about it too much, Lisa. as long as you don´t have any dry patches on your face and rub it in evenly and REALLY rub it in you shouldn´t have any problems. I never really have any streaks on my face and I frequently use self tanner on my face.

So you skip your moisturizer on the days you apply self tanner? Okay, cool, thanks. How often to you apply it?

I always apply self tanner at night and I think skipping moisturizer is not a big deal if it´s just overnight. the color lasts about 3 days on my face, gradually fading. of course when I use my ACV toner, microdermabrasion or glyocolic peel it fades even faster but I just reapply right afterwards or something.

I don´t know why some people have problems with self tanners, mine (L´Oreal Sublime Bronze Gel for Face&Body) is pretty easy to use.

i would skip moisturizer, as well, unless you're super dry.

i'd do it like this...

cleanse, exfoliate, tan. maybe toning will make your skin dry which will effect the tanner, so i'd steer clear of using that.
