Mine is Suave, it's only $1.29 for a 16oz bottle, and it really does a great job! I generally use a castile based shampoo.

I never used a clarifying shampoo up until i saw J recommending it to someone a few months ago so i havent tried out many. Actually i've only used one LOL! Its Pantene's Clarifying shampoo. Not sure if it works or not though :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I really like Aveda's Detoxifier shampoo, but mostly for the intense herbal scent. The best way I clarify my hair is to saturate my hair with a mix of:

12oz beer (cheap is good)

12oz warm water

4oz apple cider vinegar

I run this through my hair repeatedly for 1-2 minutes and massage my scalp. Then I lather in my clarifying shampoo, wait about 30 seconds, then rinse thoroughly. I deep condition afterwards for at least 20 minutes. This combo pulls every bit of buildup and styling **** out without drying my hair.

I do the beer mixture + clarifying shampoo about 1x per month, and do 1x weekly just the clarifying shampoo.

kerry, interesting! never heard of that :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i use neutrogena's, which used to LITERALLY leave my hair squeaky clean, but it's not working for me anymore, for some reason. i'm gonna get the suave one next :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yeah... definitely try that - it's so cheap... yet works awesome!!! :icon_chee

Cool recipe you got there Kerry! Gonna check out Aveda's Detoxifier Shampoo too

I use two different ones, depending on what I am using it for.

For just your basic clarifying I use Suave, but for a deeper cleanse I use V05, that stuff can strip the paint off a buick.
