I am flying out West next week and I am going for one week. My collection has expanded since I flew last, so I was wondering what do you take in your makeup bag while traveling? Do you take enough to do versatile looks or do you stick with the everyday essentials? I am also debating on what size bag to put my beauty goodies in. I have a larger Mickey Mouse bag that would hold everything in it as I'd like to take enough so I can do a different look everyday.

So what do you do?

Thanks!!

You should bring for what you have planned when you get there. Do you think you'll want to go clubbing or going out with some friends for a nice dinner? Or are you planning on doing some siteseeing and minor shopping but mostly sticking around the hotel? I would always plan for 1 night of fancy at least where you'd get all glammed up.

I don't plan on going anywhere where I need to get glammed up; however I do want to be prepared if there's a chance I do need to be glammed up. The first three days will be spent hanging out at the hotel and shopping. I don't know where we'll be eating but I highly doubt it'll be anywhere fancy. I am going to be in school throughout the day, so I may want to stick with neutrals, but if the mood strikes me for color, then I want to be prepared for that as well. I'm terribly indecisive.

id bring some colored eyeliner, or maybe liquid eyeliner, & a special shadow for a night out. and then of course your essentials, concealer, foundation, mascara, etc. have fun on your trip!

Maybelline Ultra Liner or ELF black eyeliner, ELF Mineral Eyeshadow in Angelic and Natural, ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer, one or two colored shadows (depends on outfit),NYC Curling Mascara in Pearlized Black, NYX White Eyeshadow Base, Beauty Rush Soothing Lip Balm, Physicians Forumula Foundation Powder with SPF 50, Maybelline Age Rewind Liquid Foundation, Maybelline Brow Express Pencil, L'Oreal Studio Face Primer, ELF Concealer, ELF Undereye Concealer and Highlighter, ELF Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph and Barry M. Lip Paint in Baby Pink, ELF Pageant Princess Mineral Gloss and one clear and/or pearl gloss.

That's what i'd bring specifically

.

I'd recommend a minimum of Powder, Tinted Moisturizer, Mascara, nude eyeshadow, eyeshadow primer, brow pencil/color/gel, nude lipstick, clear gloss (or a sheer nude gloss or pearl gloss), concealer, undereye concealer, L'Oreal Studio Face Primer (for use under your undereye concealer since I don't think anyone should go without it) and your favorite lip balm.

I personally would also bring a fragrance for the day and a fancy one for night along with all of my skincare.

Ahem, i'm not very good at selecting eyeshadows, last time i still packed half my stash (you never know, i told myself, yeah, sure !

Anyway, i now carry my Urban Decay Ammo palette, because it has a good color variety. Which means neutral colors such as shimpagne, white, gold, plus pink, purple, blue, green, black. I also pack my small pigment jar of MAC Dark Soul, it's my secret weapon for smokey eyes.

Other stuff : UDPP, black and a colored eyeliner of your choice (for variety), for me teal mostly because it's my fave color and i incorporate it everywhere. Eyebrow powder/liner and black mascara.

Face : primer, foundation, powder, with a huge preference to my mineral stuff, safely locked with scotch tape (which i also pack).

Blush, pink for me, my highlighting powder (a MAC MSF), it glams up your everyday look and to me is a must for nights out.

Lips : colored lipgloss for me, you can also pack another colored lipstick or lipgloss for variety. I also pack a lipbalm.

Other stuff : brush cleanser, my brushes (in pack them in a separate big pencil case), tissues, pencil sharpener, hair stuff to hold your hair in place while applying your makeup.

The makeup is stored in a different bag than skin&hair care, it's a big black travelling bag from Sephora.

i bring a blush that can be multiused one that is peachy pink and another that is bronzy, waterproof mascaras and eyeliners, a skintone lipstick, makeup remover, eyebrow plucker, chapstick, and some hydrating foundation
