I also battle major rosacea redness. Over the past few years it's become worse and worse, and my pores enlarged and I became HORRIBLY oily this summer. Over the past six weeks or so I've begun using some products research said may be good, and my skin already looks totally normal (although I still got a small breakout on my chin around the month time).
At night, I take off my eye makeup, then use a makeup remover cloth.
Cure Aqua Gel is expensive, but it's fabulous and very gentle for exfoliation. Anything with beads, even for sensitive skin, just aggravated mine. Twice a week I use that, and the other days I use the Shea Terra Rose Hips Black Soap, although I am going to try to change to Dr. Woods Black Soap with Shea Butter when I finish this first bottle of Shea Terra (which I'm just starting after a sample). It literally costs about 1/10 the price. After that comes some Neutrogina Acne Stress control - I've used the 3-in-1 treatment for a while now, but am changing to the Triple-action toner. Then I use Beeseline. That's made by The Natural Beauty Store, and it contains only coconut oil, beeswax and honey. (I found a recipe online, so after this batch I'm gonna try to just make my own.) Usually I use this the way the old commercial for Vaseline said to soften dry skin: rub a little into your face, press a steaming washcloth on it gently for around a minute, and pat excess off with a tissue.
I think it also really helps that I've changed from foundation, sometimes with and sometimes without primer, to just Skin79 BB Cream, also for this last couple months. I really wish I could find a bb primer or something to make it last, since that's my one gripe about it - feel like a regular primer would block it from my skin and defeat the purpose. But now my skin isn't bad bare, so I just make myself not mind when it's gone by noon.
Don't know how this'll work on the oiliness over the summers, since I started once the heat had mostly stopped for the year, but I'll deal with that when and if it comes up. It'll probably work great for the winter!
