Well I LOVE the shower. It's one of the best places to relax. However, I also don't like to spend time doing nothing. If I'm in the shower for around an hour, what should I do in the shower that will improve my skin, hair, body, and whatever?

For an hour?

Water is a killer on dyed hair - best way to fade colour.

Also, water can be horribly drying on skin, especially in the winter.

I guess I'm not much help - I enjoy 10 minute showers than I've had enough.

Well, you could use a body scrub, one from bath and body works. Also you could do a deep conditioner, or a hot oil treatment. As for your face, you could use an exfoliating brush on your face, neck, and chest.

Hope this helps.

In the winter, I cover myself in sweet almond oil or coconut oil.  I let the steam work with the oils to soften my skin and I apply it in my hair like a mask.  I'd never take that long of a shower.  It does more harm than good when it dries out your skin and hair.

I'm a more bath-oriented person as well; I can't stand showers for some reason.

I don't know if I could possibly take staying in the bathtub for an hour though; I would probably suffocate in the hot steam, haha.

When I'm up for it, I sometimes use this Asian brand scrubber all over...it takes dead skin off like no tomorrow and leaves your skin fresh and soft. That's good for the skin, I guess.

Also, maybe cleansing conditioners for the hair? I like to wait about 5 minutes before I rinse.

Or maybe epsom salt if your body is sore?

Just throwing suggestions out there. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Aside from your skin you need to protect your back. You can catch a cold or worst you'll suffer pneumonia.

I really don't think you can improve anything by staying in the shower for that long. Maybe try body brushing before you shower and use a moisturizing cleanser. Rather than any ordinary conditioner, try a hair masque. Wear it in for 3-4 minutes and rinse. It's similar to the conditioners you'd find in a box of hair dye. Leaves your hair incredibly silky. I suppose you could exfoliate your face with a scrub and use a ped egg for your feet.

Turn the water off!! Lengthy immersion in water damages the hair by lifting the hair cuticle, drawing out proteins and colour molecules from the shaft. Also damages the skin by leaching the skin's water-based Natural Moisturising Factors. Aside from that showering for an hour is a horrible waste or water and energy so bad for the environment. Take up a hobby, learn a skill or do something thoughtful for a person in need if you have so much spare time.

Baths are just as relaxing and they don't waste water.  If you do want to pamper yourself in the shower, here are some things I love:

1- L'Occitane Almond Oil Shower body wash.  It is absolutely amazing and can be added to your bath as well.  It gives off this luxurious scent that makes you really enjoy your shower.

2- There is also leave in conditioners you can use.  Those only require 3-5 mins.  But they are shower treatments.

3- Scrub your entire body head to toe.  Meticulously washing every part of your body.  Sit down if you have to.

4- Cut your toe nails.  Sit down for this one too, of course.

5- Try African Black Soap.  It is all natural, helps balance out your skin, helps with any skin sensitivities, helps remove toxins, and can be used as a shampoo.  This is an all in one product.  If you want to know more about it. Check out this article - http://asianmakeupdiaries.com/african-black-soap/

6- Do a body scrub then do the L'Occitane Almond Oil.

Try to cut your shower time in half.  Or take a bath.

Hoep this helps
