Hi all,

I would really like to know what is the correct order in your skin regimen to apply acne spot treatment. Is it before or after moisturizer? Also would the sun affect your acne treatment? Thanks.

I agree, use it before the moisturizer. And make sure to stay out of the sun or use a sunscreen while on the treatment because your skin will be more sensitive to the sun.

I agree that you should apply acne treatment before moistuizing. Make sure that the moisturizer is not going to reduce the acne med's ability to work.

If it is a prescription, the pharmacist will know what moisturizers will have a negative affect on the acne med.

Thanks guys,

I thought I was doing it the wrong way, so I'll have to reverse it. Do you apply your acne treatment in the night only? Or both night and day?

before moisturizer works well especially for treatments that make you skin dry like some benzol peroxide acne treatments

As mentioned, it should be applied before moisturizing and it's advisable to wear SPF if you're going out in the sun and you have medication on (well it's adivsable to always wear it! :glasses: ). Also, whether you should apply it once or twice a day depends on many things like the severity of your spots and how fast you want it to work, usually when I spot treat twice a day I get really bad dry patches.

i don't know if there's actually a wrong way, imo. i apply my treatment after my moisturizer, and then more moisturizer. i like have a barrier between strong products and my skin. it works for me!

i only apply my treatment at night because it has a kind of weird scent.

well i have never used acne spot treatments, but hey thanx for the post , now i know what to do when i do ! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> thanx ladies!

yup, agree w/the girls.

Apply the treatment first. Wait for it to dry and apply moisturizer (preferably one w/spf, since the sun can make acne scars worse)

Apply acne treatment as often as u need it during the day. 1-3x
