Thin air? try to stay off mountains? hahhaha

I guess I'm not sure what you mean, does your hair have a lot of flyaways? Maybe try a one of the hair oils like argan hair oil from Josie Maran or a dressing cream if you want it to do more than smooth fly aways.

If you have thin hair, you might wan to consider any of the following:

Have layers cut into hair and do not have hair longer than should length.

 - These will help prevent the weight of hair making the thinning less obvious.

Consider dyeing or at least highlighting hair

- The chemicals will swell out the hair shaft and make you look like you have thicker hair.

Consider only shampooing (and not conditioning) hair or use a 2-1 shampoo.

- The conditioning agents can weigh down hair making it look thinner.

Wash hair daily with a volumizing or clarifying shampoo

- Less conditioning agents.

Avoid styling products when possible

- The chemicals can weigh down hair and look more thinning.

Going back to the first point, get a good hairstyle that will work with your thinning hair

 - have the stylist show you how to style your hair so that it won't look thin.

Many women, such as myself, have this very same problem, and a lot of them get extensions to fix this. When extensions are high quality and applied by a certified stylist, you wouldn't even know they were in.  You probably see a lot of celebrities with gorgeous long, voluminous hai,r and the truth is, about 90% of them wear extensions.

When thinking about extensions, many women think length. But extensions can be used for all sorts of things such as volume and even chemical-free highlights.  And some brands are way more affordable than you think. I have done a lot of research on this, and found the higher end, high quality hair extension brands are Great Lengths, Hair Dreams, Cinderella Hair, etc. They can be pretty pricey. There are other brands out there, though, that maintain that high quality standard but are a 1/3 of the cost.

One of these brands that I found and love is Tony Odisho Extensions.  They use a keratin protein bond which doesn't damage the natural hair whatsoever. When applied by a certified stylist, and taken care of properly, they can last up to 6 months.  Sometimes I forget I even have mine in! I called and they found me a certified stylist in Chicago where I live. They have the cities that certified stylists are available right on their (Link deleted per Terms of Service. )

I love my extensions, and I love the fact that I don't have to worry about my hair being thin and hard to style anymore!

Silicone-free conditioners and leave-ins do not wear hair down. My hair is dry and fragile, so I HAVE to condition it, and I use a leave-in with shea butter and coconut oil to give it extra moisture.

Silicones also leave build-up on the scalp. I had a scalp analysis done a couple of years ago by a Phyto rep, and I was told my hair was anemic due to buildup on my scalp (I'm no expert, just parroting what I was told!). Since switching to silicone-free products, my hair is has grown in thicker, has more volume, and no flyaways even when I straighten it.

I do agree that getting a shorter layered cut also helps. I am a hater towards every woman with long thick hair, lol.
