I've had problems with acne since I was..ohhhh 12? So I have been using proactiv but it's like sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I'm also sick of how expensive it is with little results. I'm going to go buy some neutrogena and cetaphil stuff that people have suggested on other threads, but what about a moisturizer? I have oil and dry combination skin.

What moisturizer would anyone suggest for oil/dry/acne problem skin???

Thanks!

I use Aveeno moisturizer and I really like it. They have Positively Radiant w/ SPF and they have a moisturizer for problem skin, Clear Complexion.

For oil or acne problem..have you thought about facial sprays? It would moisturize your face and getting rid of the oil problem at the same time.

In addition, thought about buying oil paper blotters?

And also, thought about steaming your face too? Add a couple of essential oils ..and some essential oils will greatly help with your acne.

As a teenager, I struggled with this as well and found steaming my face was a blessing!

cellex c sea silk oil free moisturizer. its my HG and i have combo skin so i get the flaky and oily at the same time. It works wonders but is kinda pricey. check ebay for it!

I don't have a personal d/s recommendation, but Aveeno does seem to be popular.

Aveeno is a good one, It might be a little too thick for you, that's the only thing I'm not crazy about, but it has worked for me so far, now if I only remembered to moisturize more often.

Thanks Everyody! I think I'll try out the Aveeno before I spend the big bucks on anything!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Mattifying Gel....my H/G moisturizer...love it!!!! I have oily skin as well but since i started using this it had reduced a lot and i hardly get pinpmles anymore...HTH

I use pure aloe vera gel..the drugstore kind..and it hydrates very well. I break out from everything else. Also, I have oily skin for the most part. So, aloe vera works great for me..plus it's very reasonably priced and will last you forever. I use the CVS brand. Lately people have been giving me compliments on how my skin glows and I've noticed the texture has gotten to be much smoother.

i use "moisture in control" by clinique during the summer. it doesnt dry my skin out, and keeps those stupid zits at bay.

Yeah, no problem! Another thing, make sure you wait like 5 minutes after applying your acne product to apply the aloe vera gel. Wait another 5 minutes if you wish to follow up with makeup. At night, I usually just glob it on after waiting 5-10 minutes for my acne medication to really sink in. My skin feels super tight..but I personally like the feeling.

I've heard that using cold water to wash your face before applying moisturizer helps too. Something about it closing the pores. I use the aveeno, but think it is a little heavy. I like Loreal Future E - but it is only SPF 15 and Aveeno has a 30.

If you have bad acne and not just frequent pimples you might want to go to a derm about Accutane. My boyfriend used it in college and it helped him drastically. The side effects are aweful, but only for 6 months, then you have beautiful skin.

I've always used my Cetaphil moisturizer (cuz it's my HG) but i will have to try out aloe vera .. thx u

I use Aveeno Clear Complextion in the summer -- I don't find it heavy at all. I actually find it very light. It smells really pretty and soaks into the skin really quickly.

I really love Olay Complete combination/oily. It moisturizes well, absorbs fast, keeps the oil at bay, has spf 15 and it seems to make my skin just generally look better. Admitedly, though, the last could be a combination of things.

Good luck finding just the right thing!
