I saw an ad for this Remington flat iron...it´s called "Wet 2 Straight" and comes in 2 plate sizes. since my hair is naturally straight, but not completely FLAT, especially in the front layers, I´d be interested in the one with the small plates

I have a Remington flat iron with big plates and it does basically nothing for my hair cause I can´t flat iron the front sections with it.

I was just wondering how healthy/unhealthy it´d be for your hair...you´re supposed to use it on DAMP hair, it dries your hair with steam in the straightening process, which is supposed to add moisture to your hair (info is taken from the ad)

it is about 70 dollars btw, should I consider getting it?

I have it... works fine for me. I'm not big on ironing, so for what I'd need it for, it's just enough. HERE is a thread that was started on it... It's not the best to iron wet hair... you'll definitely need a protectant, but damp is ok as long as you're gentle with it. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

thanks Janelle :icon_love

duh, why didn´t I think of doing a forum search about it? looks like it´s the new hot thing in Austria so I figured it´d be new in the US too *LOL*

hm..not sure if I should get it, since I´d be using it mainly for the front sections, which are always in pretty bad condition anyway. the thought of using it on damp hair just scares me!!!!

my main problem though is that right after I washed my hair it´s so "poofy", it has twice as much volume ALL OVER compared to when I wash it at night and sleep on it-this makes it pretty flat and shiny somehow

so basically I can never go anyway with freshly washed hair, unless I curl it or TRY to flat iron it, which still does´t get rid of the volume of course

ahh, I´m so frustrated! I know blow drying would do the trick (most hair dressers can get my hair flat that way, but there were also some that couldn´t battle the volume), but I don´t seem to be able do it myself :icon_chee

i NEVER flat iron my hair when its wet or damp...usually blow dry first. so i proly wouldnt recommmend using that..better off wita reg flat iron

I have the small one and I love it. It makes my hair really flat if I use it damp, so I just dry my hair with a blowdryer and then go over it with the iron. It gives really good results for me, but my hair is naturally curly.

I just about have to use my flat iron, unless I wear my hair curly, then I don't have to. But if I straighten my hair its only curly in some places (which drives me crazy) so I have to smooth them out.

iv got the wet 2 straight straighters but the pic uv posted is the original version of the straightners, there oK. i hardly use them tho because i usually blow dry then straighten my hair. but i suppose they wont damage ur hair that much as u might already blow dry it which is damaging already, except with these its drying and straightening so i quess there shouldnt be any difference in damage. plus it makes your hair look better too. you can also use them as everyday hair straightners on dry hair so they are handy.

Agree! I would never flat iron wet hair-- that is just so bad. That would take its toll on your hair after awhile. I recommend blow drying and try to get your hands on a CHI-- its a great iron! HTH!

omph, it´s soo expensive! plus, the voltage in US electronical stuff is different I think, no?

so you guys think I could get a CHI from there and it´d work here in europe? sorry if that was a stupid question :icon_redf

You know what-- Is it expensive but its so worth it! I spent about $200 CND on mine and I've had it about 1 year. It gives salon finish results- really! I use it to straighten and curl. Its amazing and I would buy another one if this broke on me. It was worth every penny and I couldnt live without mine! I'm not sure about the voltage though :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
