Not sure if this is in the right forum but does anybody here do their own body waxing at home? if so what do you use? any tips? I've never done this before, but am interested in trying. Thanks!

i've tried. I don't like hard wax (doesn't use muslim strips) because they are really painful IMO. I like wax with muslim strips (think nads or other products like that), but they are sticky and would make too much of a mess. So I don't anymore.

I forgot to ask how long should your hair be to be able to wax? I am talking underarms, and legs. ???

I wax @ home all the time. I got the Bliss Poetic Wax kit off Sephora and it realli works . It doesn't hurt @ all.

.. if u want something cheaper, Surgi - Brazillian is good too.

just remember read the directions and u should have no problem.

*keep in mind that u need to pull skin taunt then pull wax off .. otherwise .. it will hurt

I use the Stripless wax kit by Gigi (they sell it at Sally's Beauty Supply), and it comes with all this stuff. It was actually recommended by a MUT person. I don't like those damn strips, and find this to work quite well. My only complaint is that their wax remover really doesn't work for me. I actually got a bunch of it on a new pair of jeans (I am such a dork) and it is impossible to get out (I used some peanut butter and just soap over and over to get most of it out). I wish I knew a trick about getting wax off of stuff.

I know that if you are waxing your side facial hairs (like sideburns) they should be about 1/4 in , I believe. If you are in doubt, just use some small scissors to cut any hair down.

*LOL* at LVA!

I had the most awful waxing experience w/ my eyebrows. I had just gotten my hair done and I was feeling pretty so I decided I might has well wax my brows too. I got the Sally Hansen Brow Kit and I waxed my left eyebrow completely off!

It was so embrassing...I used pencil b/c at the time I didn't have any powder. But I had got splashed about a week later at school for some event and my brow came off! LOL It's funny now though. I wouldn't reccomend Sally Hansen's products!

i've done it before, but i must say it's easier when you have it done. goes much more quickly imo.

I have tried the cheapo (IMO) versions of waxing such as NADS, but I hated it. I even tried waxing my eyebrows with that wand stuff and it was a dud too. I'd like to try hard wax.

I've tried the underarm waxing at home. It left me with the burn and scar until now. And all the hairs weren't removed by that. A lot still left and i had to tweeze them out.

Not me... I don't wax anything... I shave it (legs, underarms, bikini area, etc.)... I can't get my facial hair waxed as I'm generally allergic to the waxes
