I bought some tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate last month and made up a hyaluronic acid cream with a 3% tetra-c.  I'm not sure if it is doing anything for me.  Anyone have any experience with it?  Is it working?  Is it not working?  This stuff is not exactly cheap so I'm having reservations about buying more once I run out.  1/2 oz is $27+.

ins´t that a pretty low concentration of Vit C? I don´t know how well Vit C would improve the skintone at all to be honest. I´d just use it for it´s antioxidative effect and rely on other ingredients to improve my skin.

I did make one batch of serum with ascorbic acid, but since I didn´t know how long it would stay active at all I didn´t feel like making a new one every other day, so I just stopped.

I take several vitamins.. vitamin c was one of my first...yes i think it works, i have more energy and i don't get sick.  I also take b12 at a different time of day.. taking the 2 together won't absorb the b12.

I also take d2 and flax seed oil.

I wake up less groggy and more on time and don't get tired as much, I'm glad i started taking them.

Do you find that the flax oil helps improve the quality of your skin? If so, what brand do you use?

Yes, it has made the lines in my fingers less noticeable and softer.  It also has lessened the stress line between my brows a lot.  However I used it for heart health.  Take it alone and not with other vitamins/meds as it can stop the absorption of other things.  You have to drink plenty of water with this and check up on interactions..

I use Finest Natural brand I got at Walgreens.

I read that for tetra-c which is an ester C (vitamin c derivative) that 3% is the appropriate concentration in a serum.  Tetra-c has a shelf life of 18 months where ascorbic acid last a few weeks before air or light gets to it and oxidizes.

ah I see! All those different kinds of Vit C, it´s pretty confusing if you´re new to it like I am.

How long have you been using this?

I think 6 weeks.  I've lost track actually.  Times been whipping by me.

I'm new to it too.  I'm thinking of adding some ascorbic acid to the mix every night so I can get both in 1 and not have to deal with oxidation.

6 weeks is a decent time, although I think if you´re using this to fade hyperpigmentation and/or even out skintone it might take longer to see effects. I´m currently using Hydroquinone 4% (which should be more potent than Vit C in terms of fading hyperpigmentation) to fade some sunspots, and it´s also taken me 4 weeks to see a difference. I´d stick with it a little bit longer. Even if you don´t see any results, it still has it´s purpose as an antioxidant serum

Well I'm pretty simple. I take vitamin C daily as it helps improve skin and I'd apply an orange mask mixed with honey if I want a more brighter complexion. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Whats in the orange mask?  We were referring to vitamin c in a skin serum and not in pill form that you ingest.

i use Isa Knox ideal ringer vitamin serum. i love this stuff. it's really orange pigmented. but on the skin it leaves a glow :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
