I heard someone say that boxers have great skin coz they usually put vaseline on their faces wen their boxing...i dont knw how tru that is but i wanted to try it out...i googled it and found som mixed opinions...so I went ahead and tried it out...my face did feel a bit soft and smooth the next day...or maybe its in my head...i dont want to use it too much coz i hav oily skin...has anyone ever tried it?

Vaseline works well because it traps the moisture underneath it, there by making your skin feel softer.

The next time you have a shower or bath, dry your skin just until it is damp.

Then apply Vaseline to the damp skin.

This is an effective and inexpensive way to keep skin moisturized.

The only time I apply Vaseline to my face is in the winter, when the skin dries out a bit.

I wouldn't use it in the summer as my skin is just to oily then.

The only way you are going to know if it helps is if you try it.

Dollar stores sell petroleum jelly for a dollar or less.

It works well to seal in moisture and protect your skin against the elements during winter, but that's all it does. It's nothing more than grease when you think about it. Since it's so cheap and has multiple uses you could try it, see if it's not too much for your skin.

I use it a lot on my skin at night. First I use a ROC night treatment for brown spots, oil of olay eye cream, then a little shea butter and then vaseline on my eyes and lashes, around my nose and chin. Been using it straight for a couple of years and my eye lashes are in better shape and my skin seems more supple. It works really well for me. I also use it to remove my eye makeup.

You'd probably do better by buying a bottle of sweet almond oil.  It has multiple uses but its better for your skin.  Petroleum products are not something I want on my face.
