So I saw that someone had made mention of this in a previous thread about zit popping and it piqued my interest. I did numerous searches, but couldn't find any information on it. Does anyone here have any sites or knowledge about it?

I only know two things about popping zits:

[*]You're not supposed to do it!!!

[*]If you're going to do it, use two Q-Tips to pop it instead of your fingers so as to make sure the oils from your hands don't get into it and make it worse off...

In my experience, every zit I've ever popped has either left a small, small mark... Or, I continue to have them grow in the same spot from time to time. I recommend leaving it alone and letting it take its course, or using either Neutrogena On-The-Spot Acne Treatment or MK Blemish Toner on it. Or, something I've always read about celebrities doing, is use tooth paste (the actual paste, not gel), and they apparently reduce a good amount over night or within a day.

i just know that you should try your darndest to leave it alone!

I heard a while back also that a "secret to the star makeup artists"(lol) is to use visene dipped cotton balls on redness of a zit, itll take the red out...(giggle) Ive done this a few times, it helps!

The only time you should pop a pimple is if the pimple will never go away, don't keep trying it will not pop either. If the pimple does pop clean it with acne med right away! Or it will cause other pimples to form. Never do this unless you have a pimple thats been there for 3 weeks.

Ive been tryign really hard not to touch them but its hard not to especially when they hurt. lol

Sort of. Popping them can push the zit-causing bacteria further into your skin, causing more redness and swelling. The real "danger zone" is the triangle which stretches between the bridge of your nose to each corner of your mouth. The veins in this area drain into the cavernous sinus. Squeezing zits in this area can lead to a dangerous, and sometimes deadly, infection called cavernous sinus thrombosis (a blood clot in the sinus cavity).
