hi girls!

the ends of my hair are very dry since i bleached it a year ago, and id like some affordable treatments for it to make it softer and not so dry. any recs? i have wavy/curly hair. also, how often should i do these treatments?

I swear by Nexxus Products! I use Emergencee as a deep treatment 1ce every 1-2 weeks. I also use Humectress conditioner- its super moisturizing. Also make sure your trimming the ends every 4-6 weeks or so. I noticed even a tiny cut goes along way and makes your hair look alot healthier!

A good inexpensive product to help bleached hair is Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. I used it when I had my hair platinum, 2-3 times per week. It makes it softer and stops it from breaking.

I should try this, I've heard alot of great things about it. I'm gonna check out my local drugstore to see if they carry it!

Definitely agree with the trims... and I like Biolage Hydratherapie treatments... they help a lot! :icon_chee

I really like the Feria deep conditioning treatment sold at Sally Beauty Supply! Also, I like to use this before placing my hair in a plastic shower cap and sit around the house for an hour or two. The warmth of my scalp helps the conditioner to soak in. Also, also (lol!) I do a clarifying treatment before deep conditioning to get my hair as soft as possible.

OO good tip! I clarify my hair as well before treatments- my hairdresser suggested that to me once and I've been doing it ever since!

Well I suffer from really bad dry and breaking hair because Of my hypothyroidism...and relaxing it and dying it all colors does not help either..so when you metioned the Aussie solution I ran downstairs and bought one at rite aid...I hope it works..

P.s Off topic but I just relized that my rite aid does not sell milani or jane :icon_conf

A clarifying treatment will lift product build-up from the hair shaft. I use styling products and moisturizing shampoos and conditioners so there will definitely be a product build-up! I'll notice the build-up getting heavy when my hair starts to act lifeless and stubborn and starts to feel 'dry' to the touch. I use and like Aveda's Detoxifier but my favorite treatment is combination of clarifying shampoo and a mix of beer, warm water and vinegar! This removes *all* traces of product build-up and leaves my hair super shiny and full of body. Here's what I do:

Need:

extra large bowl

plastic cup

12 oz (1 can) of beer

12 oz of very warm water

4 oz (1/2 cup) of vinegar, I use apple cider vinegar from Heinz.

clarifying shampoo

Pour beer into bowl, then fill beer container with very warm water to the top. Add to bowl. Add in 4oz of vinegar to bowl. While leaning over tub and bowl is under hair, repeatedly pour this mixture through hair, massaging into scalp. Make sure hair is saturated and let stay in for about 2 minutes. While hair is still saturated with the mixture, lather in some clarifying shampoo and wash as normal. Rinse with warm water thoroughly, blot dry, then apply deep conditioner. (I keep the deep conditioner in for over 20 minutes. Since I'm going through all the trouble to clarify my hair, I might as well do the conditioning up right!)

I do this special treatment about 1x per month. On a weekly basis, I just use the clarifying shampoo in the shower before my conditioner.

Oh so my hair is going to be drinking the beer that I don't je je, Good to know. Do you know about the brands that make a clarifying shampoo other than Aveda ? Drugstore product or likewise ? I'll do this treatment, sounds easy just need to find the shampoo. Thank you

Almost all brands carry a clarifying shampoo, some are really harsh however so you may want to dilute it.

I recommend Kerastase Masque Intense or Nexxus Humectress.

I second the olive oil too . Mayo ..real mayo ...is very moisturizing. youjust put it on the way you put on a hair mask , as long as you dont get a super garlic-y one your hair wont smell . Also for the split /dry ends I recommend the splitender if you're trying to grow out your hair .

The original green Prell shampoo works well.. also Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two or Shampoo Three are really good. Usually every brand has a clarifying shampoo. Even Suave's is nice... and it's usually less than $2.00 ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I am in love with this stuff... their shampoo is so-so but the conditioner is awesome!

I've tried that... it was nice, but left my hair a little weighed down. Might have been a bit too heavy for me. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
