Discover antiaging remedies that live up to their promises.

Some of these products come with sky-high price tags, but ‑- not to worry ‑- plenty of others are downright bargains.

Creams & Lotions

1. Biotherm Line Peel Daily Wrinkle Reducing Cream ($40). Despite its name, this product isn't an actual peel but rather a daily moisturizer with organic ingredients that boost cell turnover. "I love everything about it," says one respondent. "The smell is delicious, the texture is very smooth, and it doesn't leave skin feeling greasy."

2. Decléor Aroma White Brightening Night Cream ($60). Our testers are taken with this fresh-smelling, nourishing treatment and credit it with restoring radiance. The only downside: because it's made from plant extracts, testers feel it isn't as quick to diminish age spots as whitening products that contain kojic acid (commonly used to inhibit melanin production).

3. Givenchy No Surgetics Night Recovery Care ($100). This cream smooths out the appearance of fine lines and repairs damage that skin incurs during the day. "This is the best product I've used in some time," raves one tester.

4. June Jacobs Age Defying Copper Complex ($140). Organic and Zen are just two of the words respondents used to describe the scent of this antiaging moisturizer. "A spa-in-a-jar sensation," comments another about this copper-peptide preparation that stimulates collagen formation ‑- though the formula did irritate one tester's sensitive skin.

5. L'Oréal Revitalift Double Lifting Pump ($17). The double-chamber pump combines two steps into one, dispensing a lifting gel and Pro-Retinol cream to tighten and fight wrinkles simultaneously. "I feel a big difference in the firmness of my skin," says one tester. And by the fourth week, another vowed to use L'Oréal treatment products exclusively.

6. Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite 24/7 Anti-Aging Cellular Repair ($52). Many wrinkle-fighting creams have one thing in common: their thick, heavy texture. Women with oily and acne-prone complexions will appreciate the lighter consistency of this moisturizer, which targets deep wrinkles and fine lines.

Serums

7. Doctor's Dermatologic Formula RMX Maximum ($1,000). Time to move your beauty routine to the kitchen ‑- the 28-day supply of vials (used after a seven-day prep kit) must be kept frozen to protect the "growth-factor proteins" that are said to increase collagen production and skin's firmness and tone. Our testers were pleased with the results but felt the instructions should be simpler.

8. Erno Laszlo TranspHuse Topical ($128). Even though its name tells you little about what this product actually does (it's a wrinkle-smoothing fluid), it made a hefty impact on testers, who saw marked changes in their fine lines and their skin's radiance. "Within the first week, my skin just beamed," says one.

9. Estée Lauder Perfectionist CP+ Correcting Serum ($55-$80). "My face feels divinely smooth and looks rested, as if I've just woken from a long nap," one tester says of this wrinkle plumper intended to serve as a liquid bandage, minimize expression lines and help treat age spots.

More Top Serums

10. Guerlain Success Model Ultra-Firming Lifting Serum ($115). "This serum made my skin noticeably firmer. After a weekend of late nights, I was surprised by how good my face looked," says one tester of this fluid veil, which should be worn under your moisturizer.

11. La Mer The Lifting Face Serum and The Lifting Intensifier ($285). Both treatments incorporate protein-rich, rare blue algae, and together they tighten skin. Within the first week of testing, two respondents commented on a reduction in creases around the mouth (the nasolabial folds). And after a whole month? "A mini face-lift," says another.

12. Olay Total Effects 7 Signs Serum ($19). Fans of Olay Total Effects products will be pleased to learn that this new serum contains the line's most concentrated multivitamin dose. Unlike traditional serums, this solution also moisturizes.

13. Phytomer OgénAge Smoothing Age-Defense Radiance Serum ($98). Known for incorporating mineral-rich springwater and marine extracts in its products, Phytomer uses a brown algae in its serum to gently restore radiance and clarity.

14. Remède Super Oxygenating Booster ($95). Within 10 days of using this oxygen-enriched serum for normal/dry or older skin, one respondent was amazed to see that her acne scars had completely disappeared. Note: Our testers wish Remède would correct this product's slightly medicinal smell.

15. Shu Uemura ACE ß-G Signs Preventing Essence ($60). The ß-G in this serum's name stands for beta-glucan, a carbohydrate derived from natural baker's yeast, which Shu Uemura has found improves skin's firmness and elasticity in addition to protecting it from external stresses. Vitamins A, C and E (ACE) boost the efficacy of the beta-glucan.

16. Sisley Sisleÿa Daily Line Reducer ($380). Promoted as an alternative to cosmetic injections, this silky gel-emulsion promises to soften frown lines, folds around the mouth and crow's-feet in just four weeks. Our testers agree. "A clearer, tight-pored look. I'm not completely wrinkle-free, but I'm getting close," says one.

17. SK-II De-Wrinkle Essence ($150). "This product is working. I now like looking in the mirror," declares one tester. The secret ingredient in this line-plumping solution: Pitera, a vitamin-packed essence derived from the yeast used to make sake.

Eye Creams

18. Amorepacic Time Response Eye Renewal Creme ($250). Amorepacific claims to be the only skin-care company in the world to cultivate its own green tea (its gardens are off the coast of Korea). The green tea yields EGCG, a potent polyphenol used in this eye cream.

19. Clinique Advanced Stop Signs Eye Preventive Cream SPF 15 ($31). Clinique's sunscreen-enhanced eye cream cleverly incorporates broad-spectrum protection by using a suspension system that prevents the sunscreen from seeping into the eye and causing irritation.

20. Dr. Hauschka Daily Revitalizing Eye Cream ($45). Known for its holistic approach to skin care, Dr. Hauschka lends the same gentle touch to this eye cream. Fortified with avocado and macadamia-nut oils, rose water and extracts of calendula and pineapple, it firms and nourishes, and it softens fine lines.

21. Hylexin Serious Dark Circles ($95). "This cream has a discernible effect," one tester proclaims. Promising to break down the bluish-red pigment responsible for dark circles and discoloration in the under-eye area, the product is intended for men as well as women.

22. Lancôme Rénergie Microlift Eye ($54). Testers love the tightening sensation provided by this virtual eye lift that's said to firm, tone and restore elasticity. "If this cream can't fix those wrinkles, then they're unfixable," says one respondent.

23. Prescriptives Intensive Rebuilding Eye Cream ($65). Prescriptives uses a "build and fill" technology with hyaluronic acid to bind moisture to the skin and smooth out existing lines. This is a great all-around eye cream that isn't too thick, greasy or runny.

24. Rodan + Fields Anti-Age Multi-Peptide Treatment Eye Cream ($50). Noted dermatologists Drs. Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields have infused their eye treatment with a cocktail of antioxidants and peptides to smooth and firm under-eye skin and help it to retain moisture.

25. Shiseido Future Solution Eye and Lip Contour Cream ($120). "I'm not sure I can live without this product," raves one tester about Shiseido's butter-smooth cream, which is formulated to reverse the signs of aging in the eye and lip areas.
