Anyone know how to go by this, When a tan is fading and you exfoliate do you have to get every single bit off ie: Go back fully pale before applying more? Or can you exfoliate as much as you can off then apply more? or would that just make the new tan look messy? Only when my tans fading it takes me several days scrubbing before its all completely off and my skin is really red from the scrubbing. Ive heard some people never go back white, just exfoliate after a few days and apply more..

When I fake tan it usually lasts about 5 or 6 days before it starts to look a bit yuck so I exfoliate everything off because if you leave bits of the old tan on when you apply a new coat over it you'd be able to see the patch because it would be slightly darker. Fake tan tends to come off pretty easily on me when I use those exfoliator gloves, I'd give my skin a break for a day before tanning again.

i like labrat's idea. i've never tanned myself, but ii i was to exfoliate, i think it would make more sense to me to exfoliate everything and start again, as previously said, just so there won't be darker patches.

exfoliate when it starts fading & give your skin a break in between fake bakes. this will help you avoid the uneven, dark patches.
