Some people just don't know how to use it.

tips/ mental facts to apply toothpaste: 1st timers

1. use as face mask at night, apply thin layer of mask to face

2. to use on individual zits apply a thin layer on zit

3. never use kiddie toothpast or bubblegum toothpaste and all the sort because it reduces the effect of toothpaste.

4. colgate and all white toothpaste are usually the stronger types of toothpaste so apply thin layers or else your zits turn gray

5. If its not burning its not working so get stronger toothpaste

6. the tolerance to toothpaste is crazy. Sometimes you'll need globs to get the same burning effect you got the first time you tried it!! Thats why the stronger toothpaste are best because they always burn.

7. if you can stick it down your throat and survive i'm pretty sure you can put it on your face.

8. Apply every night for 2 1/2 months and you will have CLEAR SKIN gauranteed!

9. This is the cheapest way to get clear skin ;a lot of ignorant people say that toothpsate is bad for skin and they'd rather spend $11 on mark than save money.

While toothpaste is drying therefore it MIGHT help reduce your pimples, I would recommend you NOT put it on your face!!

Some of the that you have posted I really must say I disagree with like "If its not burning its not working so get stronger toothpaste." I REALLY don't want to put something on my face that will burn off ANYTHING!

Also, "if you can stick it down your throat and survive i'm pretty sure you can put it on your face" is not true bc the toothpaste is not meant to be swallowed... Pretty much every toothpaste I have used has said do NOT swallow on it, so that pretty much negates that "tip..."

Again this is my opinion...

I use it on zits, it dries them up in one night. I wouldnt make a mask of it or anything though. And it doesnt burn. I rarely ever get a zit so I never have zit cream, so I just put a dab of paste on it. It works the same as zit cream.

Another quick remedy to use overnight is to use...soap.

Get ordinary bath soap, take a little bit off, wet it a little and dab it onto the zit. It is meant to help dry it, I haven't tried it.

Wow im really not sure i agree with that advice  i have very sensitive skin and if i used toothpaste as a mask i think i'd be left with scars for the rest of my life, if anything burns your skin, take it off, if its burning, its cos ur skin ain't liking it! :scared:

I have tried using toothpaste long time ago and it made my skin SUPER red, irritated and did nothing but that. It was awful. And that was only from putting it on a couple of spots, I can't imagine what would happen if I put it on as a mask.

UGH. I had a friend suggest toothpaste one day when we were talking about zits and what not, she said she used it sometimes. So I tried it out one time and the zit I applied it to got extremely inflamed and sort of infected looking. It wasn't pretty.

Call me ignorant, but I think its far to harsh and drying for my skin. I'd end up speding more than $11 trying tofind somthing to fix the damage toothpaste would do.

The closest it gets to my skin is when I brush my teeth. I tried the zit thing a long time ago it irritated my zit/skin & made it worse. Not to mention it burned I hated it.

I have tried the toothpaste thing and it just doesn't work for me-burns and makes those spots too red.

I tried the toothpaste trick once...The zit did dry up, but it left a red mark for days that I to fight to get rid off!

Wow. I have a couple african american friends who use it and have perfectly clear skin. And like i said a lot of people over use it. Apply lightly!!! And whats wrong with a little burn for the beauty?? It only last about 15-30 minutes max.

Unfortunately for me it isn't that easy I would go through at least a week of zits & pain I hate how my skin is so sensitive.

Well, when I can take care of my skin perfectly WITHOUT the burning, then I will go with the non-burning way.

A small percentage of people it might work well on, but after researching it and having tried it myself, it does burn off the top layers of the skin, especially sensitive skin. And NOT in the good (Glycolic Acid) way!

I think there is a reason it is TOOTH paste and not ZIT paste...

Well, if you had a huge pimple you wanted to go away--- The fastest way would be to burn it off applying light toothpaste to it. For sensitive skin i would advice to never use it unless you have to because it can also turn your skin gray.

And for some of those saying that it makes your skin feel dry. Thats why they make and sell lotion to use.

Putting toothpaste on yur face isnt a very good idea. The ingredients in toothpaste were meant for your teeth, which is bone. It wasnt meant to be put on your face. When people start using Toothpaste and Urine on your face, its pretty wrong. Especially the Urine thing. Its gross. But anyways, no, no toothpaste on my face. Neither pee. Gross!

No offense but thats not necessarily true when my skin gets irritated it gets dry & lotion doesn't do squat. I just have to wait it out. Lotion does not help dryness due to irritation.

And burning stuff off your face is never a good thing.

Never tried it. People have told me that, but they may be referring to the peroxide in the toothpaste which is a common misconception. The peroxide in toothpaste in Hydrogen Peroxide, not Benzoyl Peroxide which is the active ingredient in many blemish fighting concoctions.
