I'm new (yay...welcome to me!!!) here so I don't know if this has already been discussed, but anyway..........

I was wondering if anybody could give me any tips on some good tonics/toners???...I have problems with getting shiny/oily in the T-zone area...:frown: ...any suggestions?....Price doesn't matter I just want somehting that works!

You can find it in any CVS, $$ store, pharmacy, etc. Should be less than $5.00. It's the non-alcohol ingredient in many name brand toners. Also, it doesn't burn, it goes on like water.

Witch hazel definitely works, and it's normally sitting beside hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol...

A lot of derms say that while you can buy great moisturizers and cleansers at the drugstore, toners from the drugstore are almost always excessively drying b/c most include alcohol. If all you can afford is the drugstore toners you may as well skip that step because it is bad for your skin. Or you can scour the drugstore to find a toner that doesn't include alcohol. A tall order, but your choice...

I would just skip the step or splurge on something nicer...

Right now I am using the Proactiv toner and I am almost out. I am tired of having to get it from someone on eBay to get in separately, because that's the only thing from Proactiv I use!

I have combo skin and I am acne prone.

Please please leave me some recs!! Money isn't a big issue, because I want something good and that will work!

I recommend Witch Hazel. Also under $5 a bottle and you don't need a whole lot. I am amazed at the results. I have large pores and oily skin and I use this after washing in the evening and I don't have any oil in the morning! I use to wake up so oily. And I do a happy dance every time I look in the mirror (many times a day now) and more pores are much more reduced. My experience with ACV was that it irritated and turned my skin bright red. Witch Hazel is very gentle for me. Love it love it. Hope that helps.

I use one from vichy and it works really well.. suppost to "reduce the look of pores and blemishes"

my fave is made by Uriage (Hyséac) it's a toner, a cleanser, contains an anti-pollution screen, and it really reduces shine, even in summer. a big plus, it smells like apple^^.

i also tried to make my own toner with green tea, and wow, my nose wasn't shiny at the end of the day. i only made it recently, so i don't know if it will last.

ditto on rose water. i never tried with hazel (lol, i only use it as a shower gel).

Try the Tea Tree Oil Refresher from The Body Shop...that's the one i use and i love it!
