Since I was in elementary school I have had a mole on my nose that I hate!! I have wrestled back and forth for years deciding whether or not to have it removed. I recently visited a facial surgeon who said this.....

-If I remove it I will have a small scar lengthwise across my nose. Not huge, but not tiny. He can't promise that the mole won't come back,

-Laser resurface it until it is flush with the rest of my nose. It almost positively will come back.

-Leave it and get over it....

So...I am not sure what to do???? What would you do?

I'd leave it. I have the same problem (except it's right on the crease of my right eye). My doctor said the same thing about the scar. For now, I'm leaving it since it's not really a huge health risk for me.

For ME, a little scar wouldn't be that big of a deal. I have a huge mole on my forehead. I cover it with my hair. I hate it. I am going to get it cut off (I'm not sure when). I don't care if there is a scar. The scar won't be half as bad as the mole.

I had a big mole on my side that was always getting caught on my undies, it REALLY bugged me my whole life. When I went to a plastic surgeon (for another procedure) I asked him if he could remove it while I was there. He said he could, but that it would leave a big scar & I agreed (since it wasn't on my face, just on my side I didn't care about the scar. Well the scar is really tiny actually & the mole was really big, so I am really, really pleased with it. I voted for you to remove it, since it bothers you, but I wouldn't do the laser thing, it'll just come back.

If it isnt a bad mole, then leave it. Why deal with th scar? I have one on my forehead and if I remove it, I think I would look weird to myself.

A small scar is more attractive than a large mole. Remove it if the mole makes you self-conscious.

a friend of mine had a mole removed from her face. She was much happier.

I have done a similar thing with a plastic surgeon, at first i had stitches then he took them of and then the scar healed and it's not visible , only a white line. I don't know , it's a personal thing, i do obsess with details too much.

i have one too, it used to be a pimple that turned into a mole?

i hate it too, if i could have it removed i would totally do it, after all, you can cover the scar with makeup, so no big deal

i'd say live with it but i know that it's hard to do that if you've struggled with it forever. so probably get it removed. i have a few issues similiar that i just want fixed so bad and i dont think i can ever completely 'live' with them.

I voted leave it because your flaws adds character to any woman's face. Makes her unique. I woiuld leave it and make it my unique trademark

i dunno. Things like that can have a massive impact on self esteem and the way we percieve ourselves, even if we don't realise. If it's something like that, then you wont ever regret having it removed.

I'd have it removed unless it would be very expensive to do so

unless it's really bothering you, i'd say leave it. i've been living since my childhood with a mole under my right eye (you know, like the noble women used to draw on their faces at the King's court

), and i didn't want it removed until it grew bigger these past few years, because it's my trademark. i still don't want to, but i'll have to make an appointment to the derm.

anyway, take your time to think about it.

I had a mole kind of in the same place Cindy Crawford has - mine was upper lip & to the right a little. I had it removed a couple years ago - I think they laser surfaced it off or something, all I remember is a lot of scraping noises & this like burning smell

They did give me a shot of Novacane (sp?) in that spot tho. I did have to wear this huge bandage in that spot for like a week.. I looked so funny.

I have a small scar but you can only notice it close up - in pictures no way. I use Neosporin on it sometimes but concealer & foundation work just great.

That was years ago I had it done but my confidence & self esteem rose a lot when it was removed.

It's up to you!
