I am getting my eyebrows trimmed and shaped on Tuesday. The cost is $15. How much should I tip?

Hmmm I wouldnt be much help to you because I over tip. I work for tips too so I know what its like. I dunno...maybe based on the time spent or if you really like the job done.

i am sure you already have had them done... but when it comes to tipping, i follow 20% if i liked em, 15% if they were sufficient, and no tip if they offended me- with a note to the manager... oh- $5 is my minimum tip, even if lunch or a lip wax was $10...

I agree completely.

Yep I always overtip....I worked too long thru college living off tips not to return the favor now.

$5 is usually minimal for me..regardless of treatment cost...with 20-25% if I LOVE the results or 15-20% if I feel neutral (20 if it was a long proceedure like my hair which is past my waist) Even if I HATE the end result I still tip 15% (unless they are rude or totally screw up, like removing all my eyebrows...lmao)

I read somewhere that tipping is a common indicator of income.

Ironically those who make more money tend to tip less for the same services, perhaps because they just don't understand that that those few extra dollars make a big difference when people have to make a "living wage" from tip income.

I am a hairstylist/permanent cosmetic technician and I have to say that a heartfelt "thank you" sometimes is just as good as a tip. However, I always overtip and think the ladies on here that indicate a minimum $5 tip is appropriate are very kind. When I receive a $2 tip for a $90 service I feel like I have done a poor job unless I know more about the client.

When I have teens that are counting their change to get a $130 foil I don't really expect a tip. When you are able to tip it is very nice to receive...

I think 2 or 3 dollars would be completely suffice. Tip more if you get it done often.

Tip what you can afford and according to how the job is done--great job--great tip!!!! These people work hard!!!!
