Thinking about getting my hair highlighted, what would work with pale skin?

I'm thinking about getting my hair highlighted, but I don't want it to look wierd compared to my skin tone (think Thora Birch in Ghost World, http://www.iranactor.net/wallpaper/w...host-world.jpg)

What would be the best way to go? I've never done anything to my hair before, so I'm nervous about it. lol

Also, OT kinda. What is a good pomade that will give me that chunky look and stay in place most of the day?

I don't see why highlights wouldn't work on you. You could always try just going a few shades lighter than your natural color first, and then gradually lighten the highlights over time.

As for pomade, have you tried one by Got2B or Sexy Hair Concepts? I'm not one for pomades, but I hear they're really good ones.

I'm debating about getting my hair colored too. I was all ready in the summer when I was tan and was going to go for something really dramatic, but now I'm white as hell and don't know if I should do anything to it.
