Ok...well i can't live without undereye concealer, i dont really have any undereye circles but i love the way it makes eyes look so i'm addicted to it. However a lot of people have told me that tugging at the eye area (which i do everyday applying concealer) makes the skin lose its elasticity so now i find myself applying my mother's L'Oreal's Age Perfect eye cream...(i'm only 21)..is it wrong to apply anti-wrinkle creams at this age? and more importantly, is it a myth?! (the concealer/tugging part)

I've never heard that applying concealor tugs your skin enough to cause sagging ... however I have heard that anyone over the age of 20 is recommended to use eye cream, as a preventative measure if nothing else. I am 24 and am starting to get fine lines under my eyes (in addition to the dark circles I've had for years) so I am using an anti-aging concealor (L'Oreal Visible Lift Eye) -- I do have an eye cream but haven't got in a habit of using it every day! lol

How hard are you tugging? I know that rubbing your eyes can contribute to dark circles, and that is one bad habit I need to break.

I use Laura Mercier's undereye concealer which has a thicker consistency (like a cream) and because its thick it needs to be rubbed properly, so i tug harder than i would with a more liquid-y concealer.

Is there a way to soften it before you apply? Like by warming it a bit in your hand before applying. I have no idea what the product is like, so I don't know if any of this is possible. Are you applying it with fingers? Sponge? Brush? I find that I get a softer touch with a sponge than with my fingers. Is it possible to pat it on and then blend the edges? Just tossing out suggestions! You might also want to call the company to see what they say and if they have any suggestions for applying more gently.

It is usually recommended that you use your ring finger to pat product into your eye area. Taking a little extra time to blend is worth saving yourself from unneccesary wrinkles later! Anyone over 20 should be using eyecream regularly as a preventative measure.
