I have just gotten so low selfesteeme(sp?) after my hormonal changes started 3 years ago and my skin got so horrible!!I have tried everything and always had in the back of my head that I would eventually start on the pill to get my skin back in track!!

I actually don`t like the pill, but now I have had it!!!!!

I tried it like 10 years ago when I had the same problem and my skin got back to normal in a few months. I use Diane(don`t know if you have it) and it is known for helping agains acneproblems.

It`s funny though because I don`t have a bf so I am not using it for birthcontrol, as it`s main purpose is, but I am just fed up and want this horrible break outs to go away!!

Does any of you use it for the same thing?

Kitty. Are you perhaps drying out your skin too much with using too many acne products? I had horrible acne and I was like what the? I realized that I was drying out my skin too much and causing it to be horrible. I also changed my diet to more purer foods and less processed stuff, but I believe that my regimine is what brought me back to normal. I use Oil of Olay Age Defying Cleanser and Age Defying Moisturizer, and benzoyl peroxide lotion(from Proactive). Then every other day I do the Oil of Olay Regenerist Skin peel and then follow up with a clay mask such at the Emergency mask from Clinique. I'm 29 yrs old, but I have a medium skin tone and I love to tan and my skin tans well. This regimine works for me. Like I said I had terrible skin and this helped me obtain the complexion I had when I was a child. Also I switched my make-up to oil free Color Stay by Revlon, its the Softflex formula for Normal skin. I also use the Fresh complexion concealer duo and the Color Stay Powder. I also use a new sponge each time I apply my make-up.

Good luck to you.

WOW!Thanks Christa!!That is some great info!!I might have to buy the oil free one from Revlon!!Have heard great things about it!!

My skin has gotten a bit dry on my forehead (I have combo skin) because it has broken out so often there, but it`s difficult to find a product that is gentle yet working!!!

Thanks a lot for the tips!!!

If you are dry and flaking and broken out. Then you MUST go get the Oil of Olay Regenerist peel!! I swear by this stuff. It exfoliates and unclogs pores like you wouldn't believe! Its a very gentle yet effective scrub with a warming serum that breaks down the cells and your skin will feel like a baby's you know what. Past breakout marks will diminish, but your skin will exfoliate like it should and if you have blemishes that look like they are ready to be expelled ...to put it nicely.... they will and you will be so happy. Try this out... really you won't believe it and then you will be stocking up on it like I do. Its 23.00 but its sooooooooo worth it! It smells soooo good. I was able to use it two times in a row when my skin was really broken out, it expelled and exfoliated and just was soooo wonderful. I am a dance instructor therefore I have my hair up all of the time and when I was broken out I felt horrible, but since using this I can face the mirror proudly!!! Oh your daughter is a doll!!! What a cutie. Congrats for looking so great and having a daughter.

Oooh thank you so much on the comments on my daughter and me!!!Apreciate it a lot!!:icon_love

I am not sure if we have the peel here in Norway!I know we have some Oil of Olay but don`t think I have seen it!!!Will check that out asap!!!

Thanks a lot Christa!!!!

There were many factors to my skin getting better 1 being the pill 2 I went vegetarian 3 I started drinking more water & 4 I started making my own cleanser.

I believe all of these have helped me. Ive always been acne prone & I havent had a full blown zit in years & get the beginings of maybe 1 when I start my cycle.

Kristina, I've had acne since I was 6!! I was thinking that I was always going to die with acne, I went to doctors they gave me useless pills, they always said that it was hormonical and it would leave at the age of 25!! I was desperate!! When a pharmacist suggest me the Avene products when my teenage start at 12 or 13 I'm not sure!! I used the Cleanance cleansing gel twice a day, and whithin a year my acne dissapear at least the 90%!! From then I haven't stop using it!! It's a miracle in a bottle for me!! I don't know if you have Avene products there but if you do get it!!!

awww sorry kristina i hope the pill works for you, i dont think your skin is bad at all! i always tell you your skin looks so flawless, remeber we were trading your skin for my eyes? lol, keep your head up sweetie :icon_chee

If you would like the Regenerist Peel, I would be willing to send some to you.

After you get it, just reimburse me. If you are interested, PM me or write me at [email protected] and give me your mailing info.

I know how frustrating it was for me.

Christa

Kristina I can send you one of the Avene's cleanser if you want anytime!!! Just let me know!!!

I had medium severe acne in my teenage years, at 18 I finally got Diane Mite (I think that´s the same pill you got) my skin got about 70% better after 6 months. it can take up to a year too though for it to work. friends of mine have used it too and it worked for every single one of them, sooner or later

after that I switched to other pills but my skin still behaved, of course with the occasional breakout or cystic zit. but since I did the 8 glasses water a day challenge I haven´t had one single cystic zit, only a TINY occasional pimple. my skin can finally HEAL :icon_bigg

good luck with your skin. and I still gotta say I would have never been able to tell you had such problems with your skin...it looks so glowy and healthy in pictures! :icon_love

This is what I was thinking, too, Kristina.

The brief time I was on the pill, for normal birth control reasons,

my skin did look really good, smooth, etc.

But I haven't taken the pill for years now and am just trying other things.

What is Diane Mite or Diana Mite?

When I had very bad acne, the dermatologist asked if I wanted birth conrol pills, since it contained hormons, which would make my skin better, but I didn't want it, so I started on Accutane instead. But I remember that when I was in medical study (where I had to take Diane[birth control pills] to see if it had any affect on my appetite, since they wanted to see if these birth control pills would be any help to bulimics [i was the healthy study]) I took the pills, and it improved my skin somewhat, but I didn't want to continue after the test period, since I didn't want to be on birth controls...

aww im sorry about your skin i know exactly how your feelin my acne hasnt been so bad before :icon_twis and i just feel like everyone stares when im out! i think ill giv the pill a try, but i could swear that last week i read that it made someone break out:icon_conf but i hope your skin gets better.

I often think about getting the pill for my skin problems too. Unfortunately, i can't swallow tablets. I know, pathetic, but they really just don't go down!
