I really want to whiten my teeth for summer! Any good, yet affordable recommendations!?

I'm down for anything minus that gel/paste stuff you just squeeze on your teeth and then have to be stuck in a smile for 30 minutes ha!

sorry, if there was already a post about this, forgive me! just link me to it!

I have the perfect remedy and it costs less than 50 cents. It's baking soda and it makes your teeth SUPER white. Brush with it in the morning and night and you will see dramatic changes. If you can't stand the taste, brush aftewards with regular toothpaste.

Also, if you're a heavy coffee or tea drinker (like myself) try to gargle with water afterwards so it doesn't stain your teeth.

I've read that before JOhnnie. Just water is supposed to rinse away stains and sugar acids before they damage your teeth. Partially why they tell us to drink so much of it.

It may wash away stains that you get that day but seems to me that it won't whiten really stained teeth.. Of coarse I can be wrong. I have used the paint on stuff and the gel with mough pieces and crest hite strips. And they all work. Now I use that peroxide booster that you just add to your toothpaste when you brush. And its enough to whiten up the diet cola stains from the previous week..

I'm going to try just water and see. Cant hurt and its freeish.

I use 3% hydrogen peroxide, swish it around my mouth for 30 seconds and not only does it get rid of the nasties, it whitens teeth too. I personally wouldn't recommend using Bi-Carb as it can corrode away your enamel.

I got my hands on some stuff called B-Dazzled, as Im quite self concious about my yellow teeth from smoking. (Yes, I have quit lol). That stuff is amazing! Cost me around $100 and you get everything you need. Maybe check that out? Apparently the white teeth is sposed to last around 2 years before you need a touch up.

I used to drink up to 4 coffees a day so my teeth were quite stainy. Then I decided to try the Crest Whitestrips, 28 strips for 14 days and it changed the colour A LOT. After I had done with the package, I heard compliments about my white teeth every day. I was very satisfied with the product, especially because my white teeth looked good with the summer tan I had back then. Another good thing was that I quit drinking coffee, because didn't want to spoil the results. Of course I started drinking coffee again and after months had lost the effect, but if was definitely worth it. When I was younger I used to make paste from baking soda + hydrogen peroxide and spoilt enamel so much that it came off in certain spots. Any professional dentist will tell you not to use baking soda. However, hydrogen peroxide is good if you have bad breath and need a quick cleanse - just take a mouthful of it and rinse. Another method I have tried is making paste from strawberries and then brushing my teeth with it (didn't help at all, though). I was trying to insert link but apparently your post count must be higher to do that ha ha. Just google it. I've read that drinking lots of green tea can also keep your teeth white and healthy because it is a natural source of fluoride. To sum up, I really recommend you to try Crest whitestrips (along with good toothpaste, lots of green tea and flossing daily). And if you drink coffee or black tea, brush your teeth afterwards or at least use mouthwash to rinse off the possible stains. Hope this helps somehow.

i've tried teeth whitening plus white too. but no change for me =(

so i'm switching over to crest whitening strips i guess =o

Rembrant i swear by it.

Also eat more acidic fruits they help with stains and you can also pour some hydrogen peroxide on your tooth brush

You wouldn't think so because of the cheap packaging and the commercials you used to see but it works. I also use other things. My regimen is:
Brush 2x daily with Ultrabrite toothpaste- this stuff is amazing and works really well and its cheap!!

Use Arm & Hammer whitening boost 1x daily/every other in conjuction with the toothpaste, I usually do this at night before bed.

Once or twice a month I use the Plus white stuff, or not even that. You can use plus white to get to the level of whiteness that you want and just maintain it with the toothpaste and the whitening boost. I don't have to use it that often.

I have receding gums and that all has to do with gum disease. There are products out there that can kill the bacteria that starts that, but haven't found the best yet for it.

I use the regular tooth pumice that dentists use and my mom used to always tell me about baking soda and diluted hydrogen peroxide.

I've done the white strips and they do okay for most of the teeth except the top, darker spots.

I actually broke a tooth and since I was a dental asst a long time ago, I knew what dentists used to mix to fill cavities. Looked it up on ebay and found it and to this day....I repaired that tooth and it hasn't caused me anymore problems, pain, ...anything

Any suggestions of gum disease washes?

baking soda and bleach! yes bleach. i do it all the time!

pour baking soda in a cup add water then drop 2 dots of bleach and mix it.

CREST WHITESTRIPS!

I'm three days into using these and I'm loving them so far, I actually have them on right now lol.. I bought them at a drugstore on sale for $20 lol I was lucky too because they were the last box haha.. Anyways I got the 14 day kit - there were other ones with more bells and whistles but thus far I'm very pleased and highly recommend them to you.

The only thing to take note of if you buy this product is make sure you check the expiry date on the bottom of the package lol
