Sunscreen to fade out spots?

ALot of people have suggested this to me but don't sunscreens just prevent the spots from getting worse? they don't actually fade out spots, right?

Sunscreen prevents them from getting darker, I think anyway lol x

Some of the dark spots I had actually faded when I use sunscreen faithfully.

i've never heard of a sunscreen that fades spots over time.

Without sunscreen, the spots would become darker and thus would not fade - just become more prominent. Because sun screen helps protect spots from getting darker, they fade more easily. It helps them to just fade naturally as they would if you stayed out of sunlight - just as they would if no other factors caused them to darken.
