I really want to find an effective sunscreen both to use around my eyes and one for the rest of my face. I am brown so I have a problem with the whitish cast that most of them leave on my skin. I also don't want it to be greasy so that it causes breakouts. What sunscreens have you all found to be effective?

Clarins makes a fantastic sunscreen specifically for the eye area called "Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30." It absorbs quickly, without leaving a whitish cast. For the whole face, they make"UV Plus SPF 40". But Neutrogena is much less expensive, and also good. They make an eye area sunscreen with an SPF,I think, of 35...and several full face sunscreens that are excellent, with SPF protection all the way up to 55. (Dry Touch formula I think is especially good--completely non-greasy.)

Dermalogica Ultra Sensitive Face Block, spf 25. It is tinted brown. I have been using it all summer and it doesn't make your face pasty white at all.

I like the Neutrogena Healthy Defense Oil Free Sunblock

I burn very easily now that I am on certain kinds of medicine. The most effect kind I have found is Noaid SPF 50. I have sensitive skin and never brokeout after using it. It is kinda thick but you only need a very little bit, it works that good. If you dont want anything too heavy or greasy, try the new Continuous sprays, a lot of company's make those now. You just spray them on and dont have to rub them in. I have been using that lately in SPF 50 and really like them

As SierraWren suggested check on Clarins.

I'm using two of sunscreen product. The Sun wrinkle control cream SPF 30 and Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30. I love both of the products. It's non comedogenic and good for sensitive skin. You can also use the Sun wrinkle control cream SPF 30 for skin around eyes as well if you think you need to save $.

I also noticed the Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30 helped soften the one line under my eyes.

the whitish cast is from either titanuim dioxide or zinc oxide. they are both physical (as opposed to chemical) sunscreens. they are used for blocking the uv rays that cause wrinkles making the suncreen able to cary the lable "broad spectrum" the only other fda aproved sunscreen ingredient for broad spectrum is avebenzone, which has a greasier feel but is less likely to clog pores then the other 2 ingredients.
