Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has tried StriVectin-SD (5% Striadril) complex?

Apparently it's being touted as being "Better than Botox"?

I would be interested in hearing anyone's thoughts or comments on this new "wonder" cream"

Frankly, (being the sceptic that I am) I find it rather hard to believe that any one cream can do everything that this one claims that it can do

Thanking you in advance,

My mom has one but i havent really used it consistently. I am surprised that you can use this for wrinkles. You mean...wrinkles on the face? So i can apply this on my face?

Yes, apparently you can apply it to the face. From what I gather it was originally formulated for stretch marks, but was found to be effective at reducing wrinkles on the face. Sounds a bit too good to be true though, doesn't it? Oh yeah, and I think the price of one tube of the stuff costs around $250 Australian dollars

But hey if it really does what it says it does, I would happily pay the $250

So what does your mum use it for, and what does she think of it?

From what I have read about StriVectin, it does absolutely nothing. It is very expensive, and has shown not to due much as far as studies have shown. (I read this on another web site). As for me, I tried OHT Poly Peptide 3 for a couple of months (yet another very expensive product similar to StiVectin) again, not much in the result department. However, I have been using Roc Deep Wrinkle Lotion at night (Retin A based) and Nuetragena copper lotion spf 30 during the day for the past six weeks. I have to say my skin is soft and the fine lines, although still there, are lessened. Don't waste your money on hype girls.

I don't know much about the product, but if you do decide to take the plunge the value alternative is Provectin by Skin Essentials available at Walgreens. I think it's about 1/3 of the price.

Thanks for the great advice girls.

However, its such a bummer to discover that it's yet another hyped up product designed to get us all excited and leave us broke in the process

my mum used it now for 2 month and it doesnt had any effect on her wrinkles. it did lighten her pigmentation spots a little but deffinetly now worth the money and not better that botox!!

OMG really? Actually i havent asked my mom about it. She had the tube like a year ago and still has it. I dont know if she just got lazy applying it. I already got some form her tube and will try it myself. Ill let you know if i get any results.

I got it when I started developing wrinkles (yep, 26 and dry skin.. I worry alot, hehe)... anyways, it worked for me, the crow-feet-ish wrinkles that were starting are gone, and the baby laugh-lines are filled as well.. I thought it only worked cuz I used it in an early stage... so I gave it to my mom to test, and withen 2 weeks, it started showing results.. now she's been using it daily for the past 2 months, and the deeper lines are gone.. few more to go... it helped with the pegmintation too... so to me, I don't think of it as over hyped ^_^ /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> it works and it takes a while to show results, but you gotta use it religiously, twice a day if you have somewhat visible lines, and 3 times if they are deep.

I heard strivectin did not work well with more mature skin (40 and over). Here is a web site that tested about a hundred popular skin products beautifulreview.com According to them, Bellaplex is the best anti aging lotion out there. I am going to buy myself some for a present!! Check out their web site and see just how good your lotion is working. Leslie

Hi,

I think that's why Consumer Reports did that study and found that these products actually do very little or nothing at all.

Well, if you were to ask Paula Begoun, she'd tell you not only does StriVectin not work, nor neither does anything else claiming to be "Better than Botox."
