how do i clean the ceramic plates on my straightening iron...theres a brownish gooo caked on....any ideas?

Have you tried rubbing alcohol? Or maybe a mixture of a mild shampoo and warm water? It's probably product build-up... which can effect the way your iron works and also get onto your hair. :icon_wink

Thanks!

I couldnt understand why it kept pulling my hair, tilll i looked at the plates and ewwwww. I was just worried about damaging the plates.. Seems to be much smoother now!

I used to use a straightening iron when my hair was shorter and that happened often and I cleaned it with soap I think. (of course not when plugged in, haha). Once I sat on it, I had put it on the toilet, forgot it was there, was going to use the bathroom, and youch! I had a burn on my butt for my awhile. :icon_eek:

Nope :icon_redf I remember I had to go to the doctor for something soon after I did that, and she said, what happened there, I told her, and she said, yeah it looks like a curling iron, it was a long barrel looking shape, ha. At least it went away.
