I don't know if there is already a thread going on with this, but the idea sounded fun.

Ladies we all have started out some place in makeup, and had phases we went through. Some more embarrassing than others,

Step back in time and laugh or cringe over your past makeup choices.

When I first starting wearing makeup I was about in 6th grade (sneaking it to school so my mom wouldnt stop me)

At that time the movie Bride Of Chucky came out and I remember thinking that Jennifer Tilly (sp) was just so beautiful that I wanted to look like her, Already having the platinum blonde hair I started to do my makeup just like her (before she turned into the doll)

I don't know if I can upload a picture of her ( you can just look it up)

But she wore pink eyeshadow, heavy eyelinner,  a plum/ pink lipcolor, and she had a mole colored in above her mouth.

So I did that exact look. Sneaking my grandmas makeup I would take her eyebrow pencil and darken the beauty mark I already have above my lip, sported purple lipstick and bright pink eyeshadow and heavy eyelinner (that i thought i could apply) I would wear this look quite a bit to school. I thought I was the hottest stuff, I'm sure it went well with my Disney shirts my mom had me wear. Lol. I totally wish I had pictures.

Throughout Junior high I was able to start wearing makeup without sneaking it, but at the time I stuck to more natural colors with thanks to my sister for help.

Then highschool came I started going through my "punky" phase. And the colors I wore all the way up til I was about 18 would have put me back in the run with 6th grade.

Dropping the purple lipstick and only wearing the brightest red I could find along with the lovely bright pink and bright blue eyeshshadows. Keeping the platinum blonde but adding colors every week.

Let's just say I'm glad I left this phase. Lol.

These days I'd be a be a boring! compared to the past though I still wear red lipstick I usually stay away from the bright colored eyeshadows on a normal day basis.

Present.

Does any else have funny past makeup stories? share?

I did the raccoon eyes and wonderful orange lines when I first ventured into makeup during junior high. Was then made aware of my foundation ****oo and scared off, tried the red lip, but found my beautiful Mohawk boytoy was wearing it more than me in high school. I still rocked the black eyeliner only look, along with funky dyed hair. I was more into hair during my rebellious altie punk loving stage. So, short one to two inch curls and witch bangs slicked straight.. lmao at how awesome I recall feeling! Then, I quit wearing any makeup and just did my hair and nails in crazy festive colors. Now, I'm up to using 10+ products daily, even to achieve that "natural" look. Mostly try to even my skin with base, play up my eyes and add a pretty flush with blush and pinky gloss. Oh, yes to mascara! My love!!

*sigh* Having been a teen in the Eighties, I now cringe at how hard we worked to get that PRECISE, eyelid-splitting line when doing two shades on the lid, like the total OPPOSITE of blending. However...I think I may have fared better than most, simply because I picked up Way Bandy's DESIGNING YOUR FACE at a very early age--no, I couldn't mimic the products, but the principles worked well. S'funny, although I can definitely pick out trends in my makeup over the years (the glitter phases, especially, and the periods where it was a much more DRAMATIC set of purples), I've kept a lot of my principles the same--purple eyeshadows, black mascara, red lips, hair in a deep layered shag.....I guess I found, early, what worked well for me. So, unlike many, I can't say, "Oh, man, remember the Nineties brown lip?" because I KNEW it didn't flatter me and I didn't fall for it.

lol @ the 90s brown lip! I used to wear that all the time with heavy lip liner... Ahhh memories... I was born in 1980 so I was only a child growing up those years although i would have love to be a teen in the 80s.. all the hip fashion, big hair, colorful makeup *sigh I started wearing makeup at 12, secretly because I wasnt allowed to lol then i went through a goth phase in the nineties where I would be called 'witch' because of the dark lipstick/liner and very dark cat eyes... and then in the 2000's i started to get into peircings which i got done in sooo many palces! now i just wear makeup how it suits me with only gloss or very light lips and simple smokey eyes with no peircings.

makeufever87 - I love the way you look now :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> and your hair is so pretty, you actually look younger now for some reason!

80s makeup and hair was totally oddball, way overdone and for some strange reason it still makes me feel all warm fuzzy to see it. I had my haircut very short in the back and one side was longer than the other. My bangs were bleached and I am proud to say I managed to get my them to a maximum height. I did have that purple set of shadows and my eyelids frequently looked like a rainbow threw up on them haha.

@calexxia I still have that brown lip around here somewhere... toffee or coffee or something like that haha.

@makeupfever87 I think all of your pictures are cute. You went with the trends. You look beautiful now with a more natural look.
