I know that steam is good for opening pores but I was wondering would it be smart to use about 5 minutes of steam before washing your face to get the maximum effect for your cleanser, moisturizer, etc.

It depends on the cleanser. Some cleansers have harsh chemicals that can then get into the open pores and potentially clog them. When using a cleanser try and go for something more natural. Papaya enzymes are a great choice for gently and naturally cleansing the skin. A cleanser with papaya enzymes will gently lift dirt, oil and dead skin cells without causing any damage to "live" cells.

LMAO!!!

From not washing to steam then washing! LOL

Ummm, I steam 1ce a week. I've heard it's really good for the OCM and if yr gonna do a facial.

I only knew about papaya for making meat more tender. Thanks for that tip.

Cause after I get out the shower my skin feels alot better.

I want the products I have to really be able to work on my skin.

have you ever had a facial? they usually wipe down, clean you off, do a treatment, wipe off, THEN steam, then toner, then extractions, then moisturizer...

Steaming is great for your skin, it's a good step to add to your skincare routine.

Steaming opens up your pores, which allows the removal of dirt/make up etc to be a lot easier. It can help soften deposits of grease and allow debris such as blackheads to be removed with ease, it increases circulation.

They're a key part of facials, I use my steamer every single time I do facials on my clients.

You can do it at home too, you can buy a small facial steamer like these, they're fairly inexpensive and do an ok job, or have a hot bath and let the steam hit your face.

cool mist may work best if you're acne prone. direct steam can activate the sebaceous glands lead to more breakouts.

But my complexion isn't to shabby.

I used to do the steam thing too but lately ive been using the clean and clear warming scrub and cooling toner and for me it works great and its not as much hassle.i have oily/combination skin so my pores can look huge at times but now they seems to have shrunk and arent as visible.also i like using olay pore refining foam wash....it works gooood, lol

I mean if u like taking time out to use the steam method its cool but the scrub is an easy way out

I just posted the piccy for reference. There are stacks of brands out there that do mini steamers.

I've heard that steaming breaks capillaries and that would make your skin red. I'm not sure if that's true though.
