So I saw it mentioned in another thread about this product ruining skin? I have many of there products and I like them. So what's your experience with it. And most importantly how does it ruin skin??

It ruined my skin. I used it daily for years and think that lead to my rosacea. I stopped using it about six months ago and noticed my skin has slowly been recovering.

I used to use a st ives lotion adn body wash and never had any problems.  If some ppl are having problems it may be best to steer clear

I never had a problem with the lotions or masks but really do think that the apricot scrub had a part to the damage to my skin.

You really aren't suppose to use any kind of mechanic scrub everyday.  It would strip too many layers of skin off your face and cause irritation.  At most it should be 2 to 3x a week and not daily.

I only use it maybe twice a week, so I was wondering if that would like still be bad for my face haha:)

It depends on how your skin's sensitivity.   It's been said that the jagged edges of the crushed apricot seeds will cause micro tares in your skin which is not good.  I've used it before, I've had no real problems but zadi was using it Everyday which noone should be doing.

Any apricot scrub is very damaging to the skin, no matter which brand. It's not actually apricot that's in there, but the STONES of the apricot which are ground up. The edges are very jagged and tear the skin. I'm not surprised somebody with rosacea would have problems with this product. I personally liked their stuff a lot more years ago. Now, not so much.

Dear Satijiko,

I knew it was the stones of the apricot  but had no idea it was that bad for your skin.  The gentle scrub doesn't seem harsh on my skin but I will start to look for a better alternative.  Could you suggest something better? Please feel free to message me privately if you wish.

Sorry about my English.

Keep in mind she was using it EVERY DAY.   You can make your own with jojoba beads and some olive oil.

I just purchased the small bottle of the St Ives Apricot 'Naturally Clear' Scrub-i have only used it twice...i am now reconsidering!although i have to say i quite liked the feel and smell of this stuff

I use to love this apricot scrub, but I used it several times a week and didn't like how dry it started making my skin feel. Now I use Clinique 3 Step and I love it!

Jojoba beads arent very effective for exfoliating. I have a tonne of them and have found them pretty useless. I find a good quality sugar scrub works extrmely well. The grains melt as you exfoliate. The problem is finding a good one that is more than just oil and sugar. I started making my own, which is far more effective and full of quality ingredients. As far as apricot scrubs go, I personally wouldnt use them even once a week. Id rather use a good glycolic acid cleanser, like Isomers Australian Harvest cleanser.
