I deviate and use a lot of different products. I'm currently trying the Macadamia oil, but am still on the fence. It seems to do well and the scent is nice, but my ends are always dry and I torture my hair with heat styling frequently. What are you ladies using and loving?

I've stuck with the macadamia oil from Organix ever since I discovered it. It makes my hair a lot shinier and tones the frizz down, which is super important in this Houston humidity. It also doesn't make my hair greasy even if I use too much like a lot of other oils I've tried tend to do. I don't heat style as much as I used to (only about 1x a week) but I do dye and bleach (parts of) my hair a lot and I haven't had any split ends like I usually get from heavy bleaching.

My stylist told me there's no cure for dry ends, they need to be regularly trimmed off.

But as a band-aid measure I tried using Nexxus ProMend leave-in treatment and I think it's doing a great job. It doesn't completely cure the dry and split ends, it just seals them together for a short time and the effect lasts for about 2 hair washes.

Totally agree with split ends, no cure aside from trims. I guess I'm curious as to other options for shine, moisture, and frizz help. My hair is naturally curly, but I'm a fan of the flat iron lol. So I'm looking for something to use for either style.

I love Alterna Dry Oil Mist. When I use it my hair is softer and shinier and it looks and feels healthier.

I also like Fekkai Color Care Protecting Glaze. It adds softness and shine to my hair.

I have tried Kerastase Elixir UItime (sample from BB). I used the entire sample but did not notice any improvement in the overall look and feel of my hair.

I have had good luck using coconut oil as a pre-shampoo conditioner on the bottom half of my hair. When I used it on my scalp it lifted some of the hair color from my roots.

My favorite oil is Orofluido. It's a little thicker than Moroccan Oil and it's great at keeping my hair shiny and moisturized. The smell is amazing too!

I LOVE the N4 Fluoro5 Repair and Restore Oil! I've tried at least a dozen different hair oils and none of them have impressed me the way that one has.

I'm also loving the macadamia oil. I traded away all my orofluido samples thinking I didn't need hair oils and now I wish I hadn't. I like the macadamia but am super interested in trying others if they come my way.

I agree - Smell is lovely!

I do keep hearing such good things about Orofluido... Maybe I'll try that next. Just finished up the Macadamia oil and while I like the scent, don't know that it was really any better than regular drugstore serums/oils.. my hair didn't feel/look noticeably different

I've tried a lot of different ones! It really varies from person to person.

  • Palmer's coconut oil sucks, it always leave my hair a little greasy/clumpy and won't come out with just co-washing. It left my ends feeling dryer than usual
  • Nutiva coconut oil is about the same as Palmer's
  • Aura Cacia almond oil improved my hair's health over time but is awful as a daily leave-in, didn't help with flyaways or dryness
  • I've tried regular 'ole EV Olive Oil and it really didn't do anything at all for my hair
  • Oroflouido smells amazing but leaves my hair looking gelled, and it doesn't help with my dry ends
  • Macadamia Natural Oil's healing oil treatment actually really helps with my dry ends
  • Amika Obliphica Oil was my go to before I started bleaching my hair. I really liked it with heat styling (helped with flyaways and shininess), but it doesn't do anything for my ends

Not an oil, but I'm currently using Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Cream and it's the first thing to really help with my flyaways. I leave it in my hair near my roots (sine it's more for straight hair) and my hair feels soft and smells coconutty :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I still swear my Macadamia for my ends though, maybe I should try Orofluido again.

Another non oil product I liked for my ends was Suave Natural's coconut conditioner. My hair soaks that stuff up!
