Does a pumice stone help with callouses on your heels etc?? Also what is the best thing to do to get my feet soft again, This cold weather and wearing socks and boots has my feet so dry and hard. Yuck. I remember my Mom has the softest feet, and she used to always soak hers, but I don't remember what she soaked them in. She is in her seventies and still has the softest hands and feet.

You can use a pumice stone, as long as you dont do it too much, or it will be tender. You know what works for me is putting thick lotion (I have used Neutronena hand cream) and let it go in some, then sleep with socks on. I used to have the softest feet when I did that.

i found a petroleum jelly cream at cvs and it works great. i use it everyday right after i shower and i feet feel soft and supple. also a once a week a good salt or sugar scrub can help. regular maintenance is the key.

I'm a little foot crazy :icon_redf Some ideas:

* Bag your feet at night. Save the veggie/fruit bags from the grocery, apply your fav foot cream, put on the bag then socks before bed at night. Don't try to walk, you won't be able.

* Use the pumice stone (I prefer a "swedish file") in the shower just before you get out, it removes the dead skin better.

* Always wear foot cream when wearing cotton/gym socks.

My feet are always nice. I developed these habits when I worked in an office where the women would wear sandals with their nasty cracked heels, so gross! *gag*

I use Benefit's Sandal Scandal. It is a rich AHA cream that comes with little socks. You slather it on and put on the socks. The next morning your feet are sooooo smooth. Pumice's are a little to rough for me.

I use Zinc based product..then put socks on..It softens them and also helps with any odor also.

I've used Sandal Scandal for a couple of years now. Works really well. Cute little socks included. I have also found A+D ointment helps, too. Leaves skin so soft. I think you should start with a professional pedicure and then make sure to lotion up every night. I think there are products out there especially for cracked heels, not sure who makes them exactly, but I know I've seen them.

i use heavy cream on freshly showered feet and put on cotton socks. then they are smooth and soft. :icon_conf

The plastic bag thing works a treat, I also heard Bag Balm is good; like vaseline but better, it was originally used for cow udders.

I soak my feet in epson salts. I don't know if it helps with softness but it sure feels nice. On days that I don't pumice my feet I use my sugar scrub on them. And lotion every night and sometimes in the morning too!
