i know there bad for me but i dout a couple could hurt. This is kinda sounds odd for me to go seems in summer i alway put LOADS of sun tan lotion on sos not to get cancer and always end up staying pretty white, hehe.

good luck.

of course I too know that it´s bad but I usually use the tanning beds a few times in spring so I have a very lame base tan for summer..then when I`m in the sun I don´t burn anywere besides boobs, neck and face so that´s where I´d put heavy sunscreen.

Good luck, just don't get addicted and/or go overboard. This is my first time NOT tanning in the beds in almost 6 years! I've decided to give it up... Suddenly got scared since I'm already cancer prone... I miss it though!

Good Luck!

I know tanning beds are bad, but i'm not against them @ all. Self tanning lotions are great, but they are gradual and when i don't have patience, i like to go lay down for half an hour in a tanning bed

Yeah, do it too much and you start looking quite odd! Haha...but start off small...like 7 or 8 mins. and work your way up, you won't get burned that way

I've also been going about 2-3 times a week. I use self tanners, but I just get tired of the gradual results. Plus, I find that laying in a tanning bed is very relaxing for me.

Good Luck, and Happy Tanning!

i agree. pluse for the first few times you tan, I wouldn't reccomend staying in the bed the full time. If your anything like me and you do, you will in up with a burn. Ask for a reduced time or simply get out before time is up. good luck!

Ok so ive gotten to the perfect shade with the tanning bed. How oftern whould i tan now to conitune this shade and not get lighter or darker?

I think twice a week is a good recommendation.

(You're using a really good tanning lotion right!?!)

OMG, I was addicted to tanning for two years! It was a tough habit to quit and its sooo adicting. I stopped because I was getting paranoid that there were wrinkles under my eyes. But then I was just looking at pics of me from last year right before I quit and I was like DAMN, I look good! I might go back once or twice before school starts.

Well, I've never used a tanning bed, but some people swear by them. How fast you age is mostly genetic, and I'd really be careful if skin cancer runs in the family.

If it's like most things, tanning in moderation shouldn't be that dangerous. I've always heard that twice a week maintains the tan also.

No offense ladies but I think tanning beds are disturbing!

I’ve seen a lot of folks abusing it! I mean how dark can you possibly get?

I see 19 year old girls that look like if they are 30 years old. I agree is some what genetic but tanning will also speed it up!!

I actually started tanning as a teenager and it was ordered by my Doctor.
I can and have gotten extremely dark due to my genetics. There are people out there that don't tan safely and it's a shame. The tanning industry has a great deal of information out there on how to tan safely but a lot of people do not heed that advice and will do the craziest things thinking they are improving their looks. I could tell you some stories.

If anyone has tanning questions please let me know. I worked in the industry for awhile and will help you find the answers to any questions that may come up. Moderation is the key.

I’m not against them at all! Like you said moderation is the key! I heard great comments. My friends tell me that tanning is a good way to discharge some stress. Another friend of mine suffers from bad depression and her doc also recommended her to do it.
My comment is focusing more on those that actually abuse them…. That is disturbing to me.

I totally understand where your coming from. For some it becomes a body dysmorphic disorder, very sad.
