Hi,

I'm looking for some help- I want to treat my mum to some new skincare products and wondered if you had any ideas of brands etc? She's 43 and feels really embarassed by her skin and thinks she looks old and I'd really like to find a skincare line that could help improve her skin and the way she feels about it.

Her skin is sensitive with sun damage, deep lines and wrinkles around her eyes along with puffy eye bags and slight 'smoking' lines above her lips. She also has uneven tone and textured skin. She's also for the first time in her life getting spots and lots of them. Every time the old set disappear, 10x more seem to re-appear and i've noticed it's starting to effect her confidence.

Any help or advice would be great,

Thank you x

I think you're doing a lovely thing for her, but I think it would be best for your mother to go with you to check out products, and then maybe you purchase them for her. The last thing you'd want to do is buy something you think would be great for her, and her end up being allergic or have a reaction of some sense to it.

i think clinique might do gift sets, but as u mentioned she has sun damage and deep wrinkles maybe you should just buy a face peel and a microdermabrasion scrub, avon would be good to start of with. Check out avon anew clinical microexfoliant and anew 2 step facial peel.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions- i should have mentioned i'm planning to take my mum shopping with me and have her try the products first- i'm just paying!

I just wasn't sure of any brands that might address her concerns etc

Thanks once again x

personally i love dermalogica products. they're alittle pricey, but i think they deliver and that's what i appreciate in a product line. i also like aubrey organics product line for sensitive and mature skin. here's a few links. hope this helps!

dermalogica.com--Dermalogica's official home page=?

this link should allow you mom to select her skin concerns and offer some product choices.

Aubrey Organics - Hair, Skin and Body Care

a really good all natural product line!

i hope you find a line that your mom really loves. when your skin is acting crazy it makes you feel so helpless (i think it's worse when you're over 40! we feel like we should be done with these crazy skincare issues!) please let if know if she finds something. good luck!

Yeah, I would also recommend takng your mom shopping with you rather than just buying something for her, its just better because the salesperson or whoever is helping you can look at her skin directly. Sephora has some good skincare lines.

Hi,

Thanks everyone for your help so far- it's been great and i've got some places to start looking and fingers crossed she'll find something she loves!

Also is there a Sephora in the uk?
