Finally ! I've been looking for some sort of document that would describe what women should do in their twenties, i've never really found products specifically for women in their twenties, have you noticed how brands only market products for women older than 30?

I find this video very informative. Other videos will follow for women in their 30s and so on.

Essential skincare for your twenties from Dr Shultz.

So, do you follow these steps already?

I use sunscreen everyday, i use antioxidants, but i've never used peptides other than in facial masks so i think i'm goign to make myself a serum with peptides and antioxidants. Seaweeds like chlorella and spirulina also seem to be stimulating your collagen and protect it, so i think i'll try combining these two :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Honestly, I never worried about my skincare while I was in my 20's.  Now that I'm pushing 40 (like in 2 weeks), I'm noticing the changes in my skin and finally starting to look towards proper skincare to keep my skin younger looking and wrinkle-free (well, wrinkle-reduced lol).

I love Dr. Schultz, I´m subscribed to his Youtube channel so I watched this yesterday

I´m pretty much already doing what he recommends:

a sunscreen that contains antioxidants in the morning

chemical exfoliants (alternating with Retin-A) followed by an antioxidant serum at night (which I believe also contains a peptide)

Andi, what sunscreen do you use that is ok to use on the face?

which chemical exfoliants (and alternating meaning daily, weekly, monthly..? with Retin-A) also what is the antioxidant serum you use at night that contains a peptide? Pretty much..I guess what are all of the products you use LOL I normally just used a cleanser then used lotion since I wear make up on occasions, I don't apply anything else. Thanks in advanced! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

About the sunscreen, it depends if your skin is sensitive towards chemical-based sunscreen (versus sunscreens that are based on physical blockers like titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) or not. Overall, I go by the best-products lists on beautypedia.com (=Paula Begoun´s extensive review database)

Antioxidant serum: Paula´s Choice Resist Super Antioxidant serum (don´t like the texture too much cause it makes my face look greasy although it´s very lightweight. But it has fantastic ingredients, however I think it only contains one peptide so if you want more peptides you may want a different product)

For chemical exfoliants, I currently use Neutrogena´s Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 moisturizing treatment (2% salicylic acid), but I`ve also used the 10% glycolic acid gel from Alpha Hydrox before which is also great (again, these products get the best rating on beautypedia.com). Oh and I alternate the chemical exfoliant with Retin-A nightly, so every night I´ll use one or the other. My skin is not sensitive at all so I have no issues with that, but it would be too much for a lot of people I think.

Good video! I'm 23 and I know I should use sunscreen but I just can't find a good one for my skin! Anyone knows which one would be good for acne prone skin?  my skin isn't oily, maybe a bit on my forehead...and my cheeks are dry. The last one I tried was from Olay which broke me out and it took me 2 weeks to recover.

Thankyou so much for this video.  I wear sunscreen everyday but I will admit that I don't pay attention to the ingredients and so forth.  I will pay more attention to these things now.  My word, more things to add to my to-do list to preserve my skin.

I'm 21 and i've recently stared a rigorous *sort of* routine.

ALthough the one thing i've been using religiously without fail is eye cream!!!! I've been using organic eye creams since i was 19 and it's been doing me wonders, it's prevented pretty much all signs of aging, i don't have a single line or dark circles, i just get a little bit puffy in the morning. i've been observing my friends' under eye areas, and most of them have fine lines, some have deep wrinkles, dark circles and bags. i'm a full time uni student so i spend a lot of time on my laptop i also work part time, my sleeping patterns are pretty tampered.

other than that I've been cleansing my face, putting sunscreen and clay masking once a week. I have rough dehydrated skin but i break out as well... i've been getting little bumps on my face. but it stopped after i started using shiseido's eudermine after i cleanse, then i put some anti aging serum (a little sample i got from bobbi brown, just testing it out!) and some burts bees moisturiser. so.. that's pretty much what i've been doing for the last few days lol.!

I think at 20, the only 3 things you really need is a moisturizer, an exfoliant and a sunscreen.  I put moisturizer on before makeup, kept away from the sun and exfoliate.  I'm 42 and that's all I did and my mom as well and she's 72.  Lot's also contributed to genetics as well, Asians tend to look much younger because we have a plumper face which keeps wrinkles away.  How's your mom fairing up?

Stay away from Garnier, pure crap. Vichy has good sunscreens, Avene is okay but i've never had much luck with this brand. The one i use dutifully is from La Roche Posay because i love its light texture (i use the line for oily skins). All these brands has different textures so it's up to you which one your prefer. I have used Nivea sunscreens in the past before, but i've never liked them on my face.

I am awful at remembering to apply sunscreen to my face. I try to use the stuff that has a higher SPF (like 30 or 40 SPF) since I burn so easily. My skin never used to be so fair or sensitive when I was little, but my skin is starting to gain more and more freckles and moles each year, and I can get a second degree burn within hours of being in the sun. It's weird that my skin has changed so drastically since I was little. I am assuming it has to do with hormones.

I also subscribe to Dr. Schultz on YT, so I think I'm going to send him a question about my skin changes.

I know it's crap LOL! I don't like Vichy either...Actually after I posted this, I did a research and decided I'm gonna buy LRP anthelios and see how it works for me. I tried Avene a few years ago but it was soooo greasy. I probably tried a wrong one.

I LOVE Shiseido's SPF60 PA+++ Ultimate Sun Protection lotion.  I put it on under makeup every day.  It is one of the few things I have never waivered on is great sunblock, and I recommend this one highly.  $40 for 3.3oz of awesome.

Eye cream is another thing I don't ever miss; I think at 23 the skin around my eyes look better for having used it than my friends who skipped it (who also skipped a sunscreen, so more likely that than this).

My skin is normal as they come, nothing really doesn't break out my face or anything..unless it's horrible department store products that have tons of ridiculous harsh chemicals then my skin looks uneven. lol Thanks! I will check beautypedia out right now! I've never used a serum, so I was thinking of giving it a try. Do you exfoliate the face every day? Or is this every week like our body

Normal skin is awesome, you´re lucky!

Yes, I`m exfoliating everyday, by chemical exfoliation (I don´t use facial scrubs anymore, since chemical exfoliation has the added benefit of evening out the skintone better and promoting new collagen production!). This may seem excessive to some, but my skin is oily and quite tough, and like I said I don´t use scrubs.

If you want more information, check out the other videos by Dr. Schultz. I think he has quite a few videos about exfoliation.

Thanks ! It probably will change on my with my luck, though :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />) I will definitely look at those videos, I seen in this video he said we should build collagen right now so we'll be prepared in our 30s! Great information, and I subbed to him when I seen that video. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I don't think it's too much at all, it works for you then that's fantastic

As per my knowledge the best way to take care of skin is to replenish your body with lots of water and should have a proper diet.

Maybe but my problem with Avene is with its formulas, i find them too greasy too, and they leave streaks (i speak for the moisturizers, they include titanium dioxide in them). The sunscreen i like from Vichy is a spray bottle, for kids. The line from LRP i use is Anthelios Fluide Extreme, but i think they also have creamy face sunscreens. The 200ml spray bottle for your body is a good investment, by the way, it lasts you a looong time.

Although I do agree that water and a proper diet helps your skin look great, dermatologists also say that you need to start a skin care regimen as early as possible. Due to various weather conditions our skin is prone to numerous breakouts/acne/aging etc... and sun exposure can cause visible signs of aging . Thus, starting a skin care regimen early as possible is the best way to treat and protect your skin.

I never used any cream on my face until recently when I noticed that my skin has got some rough spots. I tried using various cleansers and night creams and facial masks but then I realized it made my skin really dry.
