First of all, I am going to post this here because this is pretty much the only place I post stuff: I'm pregnant! I found out about a week ago and I am so excited. Of course my skin seems to be doing weird stuff already, so if anybody can give me some advice on things to avoid or start using, please do!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!How exciting!!Well when I was pregnant my skin was glowing.never looked better!I bought Weleda skincare line. They are sold in health stores I think.Non chemical stuff in that.Food for the skin.I also took omega 3 fatty acids, good for the baby and your skin.I know a lot focus on Folic acids(a B-vitamine) to prevent foster damages.I took it and would highly recommend it!!! Especially the first months!!

Good luck to you!Enjoy the pregnancy!!!

First of all congrats! It was both an interesting and baffling experience at times for me. My hair was thicker, my skin had a glow and was clearer. Make sure which I am sure you are already taking a prenatal/folic acid supplement. I had alot of weird things happen to my skin during my pregnancy-some itchiness, this bizarre rash-kind of like little pimples/rash on my arms and chest called PUPPP "pruitic uticarial papules/plaques-uncomfortable but not dangerous. I found Aveeno realy helped with this. I didn't get cholasma which is known as the "pregnancy mask" on my face but sunscreen is a must! I had a few skin tags as well. you may develop a line on your belly called "linea alba" a line from your abdomen to your pubic bone which may be dark. My feet were itchy too. Funny how all the wonderful hormones affect both your mind and body! HTH Take care!

First of all, Congratulations!! I loved being pregnant...such a magical time!! I second what KittyM said...especially about the Folic Acid. Oh, and don't forget to religiously take your Prenatal vitamins.

As for your complexion, don't sweat it. From what I observed, women who normally don't have skin problems end up breaking out for 9 months. Those of us with less than perfect skin, usually have clear, glowing complexions for 9 months. I'd personally like to have clear skin for life, not just when I'm preggy!! Anyway, it's mostly hormonal, so it's hard to control. Just take care of yourself and enjoy this special time.

Is your due date in October? Both of my kids were born at the end of October. It's hard being pregnant during the summer!! Good luck, sweetie!

congrats swibby28! make sure you take your pre-natal vitamins and drink your purified water. if the regime you were using before worked well i wouldn't alter it just yet. your skin will probably go through several stages before you deliver your bundle of joy!

congrats!!!!! i have a nephew and i remeber avent being like the best bottles thats all the advice i have right now lol, but thats great news:clap

OHHH congrat doll

im SOOO happy for you

and soo jealous i want a baby too!!!!

..but i should wait few years :icon_roll

Congrats!

I would just ask your doctor -- I'm sure he/she would know more about what's safe to use than any of us! I do know that the prescription medicine I used to use (Tazorac) said in the insert not to use while pregnant because the chemical structure of the medicine was similar to vitamin A, and too much vitamin A can increase the chance of birth defects. I'm not sure if there's other medicines that would do the same thing...

Gosh, I hope that's true, maybe I could at least have clear skin for 9 months of my life! (In a few years, that is! lol) I just hope I can take my allergy medication when I'm pregnant, or I am going to be a sick dog for 9 months and will drive hubby up the wall!

Good luck and I hope everything goes great for you!

I was going to also suggest Palmer's line of skin care during pregnancy because it really worked wonders..again congrats!

congrats! i'm preggo too. but, my skin is getting worse every day! i used to have clear-ish skin. but, my mom told me that when she was preggo, she broke out like crazy for 4 months, then her skin cleared up soooo perfect for the rest of the time. so, right now, i have no tips. because, well, i need some too! haha.
