I've noticed a big difference in my skincare regimen since summer started. The weather is very hot and it looks like we're headed for a heatwave all summer.
-For cleansing, i haven't changed much my regimen : i combine water and oil on a cotton pad, and it removes everything.
Currently i use a makeup removing water from Uriage and Sweet almond oil.
-Moisturizer and serum, i keep them for night time, it seems like too much in the morning.
The only difference is i use a moisturizer for dehydrated skins, a very light formula that sinks in quickly.
-I also bought a big spray of thermal water, here i prefer Uriage because its ions lock themselves in your skin, they won't leave it tight like other water sprays do.
I use it in the morning, and several times during the day to cool me down.
-Sunscreen, of course, is the step i do not forget. The most important is to find the right one for you. Mine's made for oily skins (my skin is combination) so i avoid the heavy formulas that turn me into an oil factory.
At this time of year the stores also have special offers on sunscreens, it's nice to restock at a lower cost.
-Fan. I thank myself every time i use it, and everybody envy you when you're using it in a hot atmosphere with no wind.
-Lemongrass and Lavender : apparently your skin's odor can be more or less sympathetic for a mosquito, mine smells very nice to mosquitoes, and i'm all for animals but not the bites that come with these ones. So i keep lemongrass essential oil in handy (i place some on a clay oil diffuser), and if i still get bitten, lavender essential oil works well for insect bites.
-Masks : i do more masks during summer, i rotate between hydrating masks, because my skin's always on the dehydrated side, and oil control masks (clay). They can also help you deal with acne, if you're acne prone.
-Sunglasses : i cannot stress enough the use of sunglasses during summer, they will protect your eyes and the delicate skin around them. They also protect them from excessive dryness and conjunctivitis.
