My skin is pretty dull and un-even, and I'm sick of how it looks.. does anyone know of any good products that make your skin more radiant and even looking? Or any secrets/tips on getting more radiant even skin?

How often do you exfoliate? Do you use facial masks/how often? What kind of moisturizer do you use? Do you drink enough water? Do you eat properly? Do you exercise? Do you go outside? What products do you use/do you use any?

I use aubrey organics jojoba meal & oatmeal scrub, rosa mosqueta & english lavender toner, and rosa mosqueta night creme with alpha lipioc acid. But I haven't used any of these, or any other skin products in months because I've been lazy..

And no I don't really drink much water, eat properly, or exercise really.. so I guess this is why my skin is so horrible..

would keeping up a skin care routine and drinking more water and stuff really help?

Yes, it helps, water (among other things) and exercise help you get rid of toxins, and your diet also has an impact. Your skin is an organ too, and it reflects your general health. I find a dull/uneven skin especially needs vitamins, so make sure you eat vegetables and fruits. Make sure you drink enough water too.

You could try looking for a mask targeted for dull skins, i like pink clay but there are others, and make sure you exfoliate regularly too (try once a week). Exfoliating helps get rid of dead cells which also are a cause of dull skin.

That should help.

Then you can always use makeup

I go for the minimal look, which is foundation, powder, pink blush, and mascara. You can add a touch of shimmery powder on the top of your cheekbones and under the brow bone.

In addition to exfoliating, using masks, watching your diet, drinking water, exercising, etc sometimes you need a light peel to rejuvenate your skin.

So...what exactly do you use?
If it is just time, then I would suggest you return to your routine. You need to be able to have a clean slate in the morning. At the very least, cleanse your face well to remove all the makeup from the day...before you go to bed.

If it is $$, I would suggest the Oil Cleansing Method (even if it weren't $, I would still recommend this). Jojoba oil and castor oil blend, used to remove built up makeup clogged into your skin is easily removed with this oil mixture. Then use a toner made from witchhazel and rosewater with some glycerin and see what crap was on your skin and now on a cotton pad. This works just as well as a clay mask in removing oil and dirt from pores.

I find the oil cleansing method is the most uncomplicated routine.

-I use the oil to remove my makeup at the end of the day. Massage oil then wipe with a microfibre face cloth.

-I use the oil as a mask. I put it one when I don't have makeup, I massage and leave on for 1/2 to 1 hour, massage while watching tv and then I wipe it off with my witchhazel toner.

-its a moisturizer, I will put some on before I go swimming to keep the chlorine from drying my face

-I also use it as a hair mask. I put it in my hair to deep condition then I shampoo.

-I use it to moisturize my body in the shower.

For a BRIGHT HIGHLIGHT

Get a wearable glow with a sheer highlighter lotion dot along your cheekbones from apples to temples with your finger then blend the dots when you smile the light will catch your cheeks and make them pop...have a bunch of tips jus let me know

Id use STILLA COSMETICS ALL OVER SHIMMER LIQUID LUMINIZET IN 1 AND 3 $22 EACH AT STILLACOSMETICS.com

as diva doll said, exfoliating will help..peels & microdermabrasion will help too. a daily light exfoliation is just using a wet washcloth on your face..& i'd use a scrub once or twice a week to really remove those dead skin cells. glycolic acid peels & microderm would help too...olay makes a good micro/peel combo..

Thanks everyone. I mostly have not been using any skin care products lately because it's too time consuming for me lol, and I'm too lazy to use them.. but I should really start using them again. But I think the main reason why my skin is so dull and stuff is probably my diet, I eat way too much junk food and not that much healthy food so I need to change it and hopefully that will help. :/

Try first by eating less junk food, it's not called "junk" without a reason. Trust me you'll feel better in general, and not just your skin.

Apart from taking care of your skin, which is important, think about the time you dedicate to your skincare as a time you think only about yourself, and make it a time you relax. I think it's a nicer way to start the day (or go to bed), and it just feels good

hehe mags, i so know what you mean! i always look forward to taking my makeup off and moisturising at the end of a long day. it just makes me feel better!

I think part of it is genetics. The other part is lifestyle & skincare

Exfoliate regularly with either a chemical or physical exfoliant, depending on your skintype. Also, smokers are supposed to have dull skin, not sure how true that is.

Look for brightening agents (Vit C, kojic acid, hydroquinone) in skincare items. In the recent past it looks like the beauty industry has finally picked up on this and brought out a bunch of products for uneven skintone (i.e. Clinique, not sure what it´s called)

I follow all the tips for great skin and my skin is still not really all that radiant. Some people just have naturally great, flawless radiant skin, while others don´t.
