I’ve been living in Philadelphia for 2 years now and recently a friend visited from Vermont. We are the same age, but I noticed that her skin looks completely different from mine. While her still glows like when we were teenagers, mine now has aged extensively. At first I thought it was the city’s water, but what I think it is from is from the city’s smog. The enviornment that I am in has changed my skin, or atleast it is not as clean as it use to be. I have done nothing different in my cleansing routine. I do not like harsh chemically products, especially for my face. So about a month ago I started using a Cleansing Milk that I found at Whole Foods. It is by Reviva Labs which is right over one of the bridges from Philadelphia to New Jersey. I checked out their website and they have a whole bunch of different products that are more natural than what I knew was available. I want to buy their Skin Peel, but I want to know if any one has tried it. Let me know.

I haven't tried it, but it could be that your friend just has better genes and her skin is not affected as much as yours would be.

maybe, but living in paris i know pollution can make your skin look tired and grey.

smoking also is bad for the skin and the diet also matters also sleep. pollution definately also makes a difference.

there could be any number of things that you and your friend do differently. are you under more stress lately? are you getting enough protein or other vitamins and minerals in your diet? are you drinking your water? and, maybe genes are somewhat at work in this situation. i'm sure the environment is at fault as well, but many of our problems with our skin start from the inside. jmho~

dc/baltimore is supposed to be one of the worst places for smog in the country (because everyone commutes all over northern va, md, and dc), and i can't tell how it affects my skin since i have lived here for so long, but i agree with others that pollution probably isn't the cause. vermont is a pretty peaceful place from what i hear, and i used to live in philly, and a city and all the people makes it naturally a more stressful environment. i would concentrate on what you eat, water, exercise, eliminating stress. it is totally possible that your friend just has really great genes - genes are more influencial in aging than anything else - but you can make changes to counteract your environment and make adjustments to your lifestyle.
