Hello.

I am looking for something to lighten or even out my skin tone. I currently use a tinted moisturizer but would like to use something not pigmented. I am trying to get away from too much on my skin. I use loose powder now but sometimes hate the look of it. Even powder that is "light" sometimes looks bad on me.

Laura Mercier has something out like that. Any suggestions?

I use neutrogena visibly even daily moisturizer which has soy and vitamin C to even out and brighten the complexion.

I use several things on my skin to keep it super exfoliated, micro scrub and gylcolic/s-acid/lactic acid peels, but to actually lighten it i use a mix that i have made

one oz of quality whole leaf aloe veral gel

one full dropper full each of:

marshmallow root extract, licorice root extract, neem oil and apprx 20 drops of wild chamomile essential oil--all alcohol free

that mixture is kept in the fridge and will last a a few weeks, i find it to be very healing and soothing to my skin and soakes right in. I can apply several times in a row if i want. I have tried over the counter and rx lightners and none of them have worked better for me. Of course if i stopped picking at my face i would not have much left to lighten, but..... Any way if you decide to try i hope it works for you too

oh yea, i did try that yeast, molasses, ac vininar mask just once, i will let you know if it makes any further diff to my marks

I heard that soy acutally helps with skin lightening as well. I'm using aveeno moisturizer with soy in it.

That seems cool! Where can you get all those things though, like marshmallow extract? healthfood stores?

I get them all at my local healthfood store. The most expensive one is the wild chamomile it was around 25.00 for 10ml, but i also only need a small amount of that one. I have tried them in diff combos, but this is the most absorbant and not sticky. The smell is very natural, not something that everyone will like but i am used to it.

Back to the cost, it really is not pricey when you realize how much you will be able to make from one initial purchase. Might be kinda hard for someone to buy it all at first w/out knowing how it will work, but you can look up the ingrediants and see what they can do for the skin. The Aloe is not only good for your skin it helps to bind the rest together and absorb into the skin.

The peels from makeup artisits choice.

Very Cool info! Thank you!

lately i've been using philosophy microdelivery mini peel pads every other day and a microdermabrasion scrub once a week. my skin tone is evening out very nicely and the texture in improving. i quite happy with this routine.

I use Oriki Whitening Lotion and it really works! I tried many other different brands of whitening skin care stuff, but there are rubbish to me. I'm so glad that I found Oriki on a skincare forum. I've been using this for about 2 months and dark spots and freckles are getting lighter and smaller.

MaMa Lotion helps to lighten skin. I bought it (not knowing it is primarily for women of color). But, it is a pretty good product. You can find out more and read reviews at skincarerx.com.

I agree that exfoliation evens out the skintone. I have been using baking soda for exfoliation (face and body) and something I noticed was that my skin was lightened a bit after even one use. I was not expecting that to happen but it did lighten my skin enough for me to notice. Anyone else experience this? I have also heard that licorice and kojic can be used to lighten the skin.
