So Ifor a long time now, I have used proactiv. Until it randomly decided to just quit on me! It worked for me, and to be honest, it was just easy.

Now I need a new rutine, and I just find it very overwhelming! So many different things, to do so many different things, I don't even know which order to USE them in.

A gf reccomended I get one of each of these:

medicated bar (soap)

cleanser (pref. deep pore)

exfoliater (gel scrub)

toner (alcohol free)

moisturizer (one for both day and night)

eye serum

But I thought I'd ask the experts on Makeup Talk! hahah

Are these what I should purchase? If so, what order do I use them in? :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> and if you guys could reccomend some brands (nothing too exspensive, student loans kick my ass!)

I'd really appreciate it guys! thanks! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

if you want cheap products that work, neutrogena has a good line of cleansers and exfoliators. i have combo skin, so i use deep clean or visibly clear. they're gentle enough IMO you can use them for normal skin too. there is also a gel exfoliator, for all types of skin, in the deep clean line. those are really the best products i've tried.

i spend my money on moisturisers. i use LRP effaclar, which a great moisturiser for combo skin.

daily you use a cleanser, and a moisturiser. you can wash your face the morning, and before going to bed.

every 2 or 3 days i use a gel exfoliator. i think it depends on your type of skin, but you shouldn't use your exfoliator on a daily baisis, because it would scratch your skin and make it more oilier in the end, just to compensate.

before applying your moisturiser, you can use a toner. mine is very cheap : water, and a bag of green tea ^^.

every week, you should do a mask. this is very important for oily/combo skin, but everyone should do one, because it removes the dead cells and deeply cleans the face.

I wouldn't bother with the medicated soap to be honest. A good cleanser is all you need, unless you prefer a soap/facial wash to a cleanser??

I also don't bother with toner, as if you're cleansing correctly I don't feel you need it. However, my skin is very dry so i do mist with some dermalogica toner, but I don't wipe it off, just a spritz under moisturiser.

Cleanse (massage on, remove with damp cotton pads. repeat if necessary)

Exfoliate

Tone (if using)

Moisturiser (spread on and pat into the skin rather than wiping)

Eye gel / cream (same, pat in with fingertips)

What's your skin type? Most skin types only need to exfoliate 2-3 times a week max. I use a gentle powder exfoliant and my skin is very dry so I do it every morning.

Sometimes i mix it with water, sometimes I just mix it into my cleanser.

Brands, I'm not too sure on what you have over there. The only one I can recommend is Dermalogica, it's fantastic - but pricey.

if you're using proactive, then i would assume your oily, acne-prone? what is your skin doing these days?
