Hi:

I have decided to update my skin care product routine as my skin is now normal/dry. I spoke to a cosmetician at a reputable store where they carry many brands. I heard one brand is like putting lots of water on your face, the other is great for problem skin.

I also heard that many are made by the same cosmetic company - L'oreal making Vichy, Biotherm, Lancolm and L'oreal. Is one brand much different than the others? Can skin care products really do a lot for your skin -say more than washing with soap and water?

I would like a skin care product that is great for normal/dry combination skin that has a nice texture and does a lot to keep skin soft, radiant and moisturized or in other words beautiful. I would like a cheaper brand over a more expensive brand. What do you recommend?

Insightful

just because one brand is owned by another company doesn't mean its products won't be different.

do you have a normal/dry skin or combo ? if you want cheap skincare, nivea and neutrogena have good stuff.

i'm trying dr.brandt right now. i ordered a full size of his products off sephora and i'm hoping that it delivers.

Many brands are made by the same company. But I do believe that you can find certain products that improve the health of your skin and protect it from a harsh environment. You don't need to necessarily buy the most expensive products....pick and choose. I would recommend going to a department store and taking samples of all different products and find the one that is right for you.

I posted a thread called Who Rules the Cosmetic World? It is exactly about which big companies own what brands. Thought it would be interesting for you Evelyn.
