Question:

When you chose a facial cleanser (or moisturizer, or eye cream), do you mix different lines or do you use EVERYTHING from the same company?

I use the cleanser from the "Say Yes To Blueberries" line, an Aveeno moisturizer, Philosophy's "Eye Believe" eye cream, and my anti-aging product is still up in the air (finishing up testing Lancome's newest product which isn't jazzing me).

Do you think there are benefits to using everything from the same line (i.e. made to work together) or do you stay faithful to items you've tried and work?  And how often do you dare to venture outside of your norm and actually try something new?  Skincare isn't cheap.... so you really have to dare to try something new!

Give me your input (and what you use!)

I use a mixture of quite a few of my own products which I make, lots of Isomers products which are manufactured in Canada - only the ones which are silicone/dimethicone free - and some Noevir products which are from Japan. They all work great together with no 'interaction' issues. I used to use only Isomers with my own products but then fell in love with some of Noevir's line.

I use a mix. I've never had much sucsess using the entire system from one line. Cleansers: Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Solution in the AM, LRP or Avene gels in Summer, Caudalie Gentle milk in the PM when it gets cold. Makeup removal: Bioderma again for eye makeup, cleansing oil (Lancome or Laneige in Fall/Winter/Spring, Nip + Fab in Summer) for days I'm wearing foundation, a milk cleanser (at the moment, KORRES Milk Proteins Foaming Cream) on TM & MSFN (or most) days. Serums: I rotate. Murad Redness Relief for AM, Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing or Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee 1st Wrinkle in the PM depending on how my skin is doing. Toner: just mist with Avene Thermal Water. Eye cream: at the moment, still in love with Caudalie's Pulpe Vitaminee Eye & Lip, and at night, using Yes to Carrots! Moisturizing. I prefer the YtC! Eye Can C, cream, though. Moisturizer: most days, Olay Complete Sensitive SPF30 but I am trying out the Clinique Even Better with SPF20. I'm really hoping the Clinique does nothing, as it's 5 times the price of the Olay. If I'm going out at night, I'll use the Bioderma Sensibio AR Anti-Rougeurs cream. At night, after taking all my makeup off, just plain old Cetaphil Lotion as night cream. Exfoliation: Dermalogica Cream Exfoliant, and Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive. I find the Dermalogica stronger, so I use that 1-2 per month, and maintain with the Juice Beauty one. I will say: thank god for samples, makeupalley, gift sets at Christmastime, Optimum Points, and Murale's Master Classes. I have sensitive, normal-to-dry skin, that can get a little acne-prone in Summer, but is a-ok 80% of the time. I try to stick with Sensitive/Intolerant skincare products, but there are some All Skin Type products that also work for me.
