My legs are driving me crazy
frown.gif
. For quite a while now they have been plagued with dry skin - or at least that's what it looks like. My legs always seem to look dry and ashy (I think that's the word, either way the skin tone on my legs is uneven and patchy). It's become such an annoyance to me that I even avoid wearing dresses, skirts or shorts, because I hate to show my legs(It didn't used to bother me as much until guys I knew started to comment about it). Do any of you ladies know of affordable lotions or creams that can help to diminish this problem, or even make it disappear for good? I'm willing to order online if I have to, but drugstore brands are good too, simply because I live in AK and the shipping rates are hideous. Anyway, thanks so much girls!!

Try a scrub to exfoliate your legs. Are you waxing or shaving? If you are shaving, try waxing your legs. For the uneven tones on your legs, I'm not sure what you can use.

I think I will try the exfoliator idea, however I'm not sure I'd be able to wax my leg hair as it is very fine and barely there (I am asian and for some reason my leg hair is practically nonexistent - I can go for weeks at a time without shaving, the stubble never grows back prickly. I think it'd be hard for the wax to grab hold of much).

I also have very dry skin on my legs. I use a product from Sally Hansen, works fabulously. You rub your legs with the pad and all the dry skin and hair comes off. It works best if you don't have a lot of hair or it is thin. Your legs feel baby smooth after using it.

I've tried baby oil before right after I got out of my shower but it didn't seem to do anything for the way my legs looked, it just made them feel really soft.

I don't have the packaging anymore. I get them from walmart, Comes with a mit/holder and replacement pads (looks like very, very fine sandpaper). Works great. Ask sales person in the makeup section.

One of my suggestions would be... drying your legs as soon as you get out of the shower and moisturizing them. I have this same problem too because I am from Alaska and it's soooooo DRY here!
Also check out your bathroom counters.. what type of soap are you using? It could be your soap/shower's water.

Also you should get a humidifier! That helps with the dryness.

Shaving exfoliates the legs. You can shower with a loofah or natural body brush instead of a washcloth. I think Nivea has great lotions. Also, the Olay in-shower lotion is good. I have the softest skin, I exfoliate everyday, shower with cool water and never use bar soap- only body wash.

We have a scrub called Awaken that works great. It has no minerial oil so it soaks in to the skin.

The problem may be from within. Drink at least eight glasses of water every 24 hrs.

Also, for oils, I think baby oil (which is 100% mineral oil), actually dries skin out more. If you like oils try castor, almond, or olive. And if you like creams, The body shop has the greatest body butter ever in different scents colours and flavours. I personally use it and its totally worth the cost. If you don't have ingrown hairs then the problem isnt to exfoliate or not, But its worth a try anyway. I hope your problem gets solved soon.

leg makeup seems to be very popular now. i see it at wal*mart and drugstores and stuff all the time, the most popular being sally hansen.
